imap + unmounted home disk
dovecot 0.99 still (RHEL4), I'm sorry to say.
The config is for mbox's to live on the user's home disk.
If the user tries to make an imap connection when
his home disk is unmounted, various permission denied
messages are logged, as expected, but then the imap
process seems to hang around instead of aborting.
The result is that eventually the imap process
limit is reached, and even

I'd like to download a complete mail archive so that I can browse
for problems concerning Mulberry. Is this possible, or can I only
get them in monthly gulps?
Cheers,

support for UW-style mbox
Hi,
The dovecot docs say that support for the automatic appending
of /var/spool/mail to a ~user/mbox (as is done by UW-IMAP) may
be implemented in the near future. Is this still the case?
And if so, is it far off?
Cheers,
Terry.

ext3 usage guidance
Is there a document anywhere offering guidance on the optimum
use of ext3 filesystems? Googling shows nothing useful and the
Linux ext3 FAQ is not very forthcoming.
I'm particularly interested in:
1. The effect on performance of large numbers of (generally) small files
One of my ext3 filesystems has 750K files on a 36GB disk, and
backup with tar takes forever. Even 'find /fs -type

App requires InstallShield
Hi,
I'm trying to run an app under wine-1.1.14, but it seems to need the
InstallShield Wizard, and wont start. How do I proceed?

open-folder limit
Is there a way to limit the number of folders a user can
have open simultaneously? I seem to remember a config option
which would only permit one imap process per user, and would
share this between his folders, but I cant find anything
relevant in the docs now. Am I talking nonsense here?
I'm new to Dovecot.
Cheers,
Terry.

shared folder
The dovecot wiki says:
The only way to implement shared folders with Dovecot 0.99.x is to
create a "shared userid" which all of the users log in to read mail.
Does this mean that folders owned by that shared uid can be
*simultaneously* manipulated by multiple users logged in to
that shared uid?
This doesnt seem to be the case on my dovecot-0.99.11-4.EL4
system, and before

URGENT: specify mailboc location
Is there a way I can tell dovecot to only use the .subscriptions
file, if it exists, as the source of mailfolder paths, rather than
have it look at every file in a user's directory to see if it's a
mail folder?
I'm on RHEL4, still on dovecot dovecot-0.99.11
Thanks,
Terry.

mbox-rewrite errors
I've noticed a burst of about 12000 of these mbox-rewrite msgs in the log,
spread over about 10 minutes.
They are always for the same person (XXX'd out here), and have not occurred
before or since.
There's no evidence of device problems in the message log.

Adding textbox to multiple panels in lattice
Dear R-users,
I am trying to add some text in a textbox to all panels in the following
example file. Using the panel-function, I can add a white rectangle with
panel.rect but then I have to fit in the text into the box by hand and it
will not automatically be centered. Does anyone know how to add the text
centered with a white box around it automatically? Is there something like
panel.textbox for

[Bug 2734] --delete doesn't work
https://bugzilla.samba.org/show_bug.cgi?id=2734
------- Additional Comments From vanes002@umn.edu 2005-05-21 22:15 -------
Your rsync options (-arRWxn) include -n, so nothing is actually going to get
deleted on the destination, even though rsync reports that they are being
deleted (which is what -n is for - i.e. to preview what will happen).

Many usershare messages logged but no usershares defined
There are many messages about samba usershares in the logs but no
usershares are defined:
# grep '\[2012/03/20' /var/log/samba/log.smbd | grep
process_usershare_file | wc -l
1518
# grep --ignore-case usershare /etc/samba/smb.conf.source /etc/samba
/smb.conf
[no output]
# ls -l /var/lib/samba/usershares/
total 0

order(1, na.last=NA) fails (PR#1913)
R> order(1, na.last=NA)
Error in apply(sapply(z, is.na), 1, any) :
dim(X) must have a positive length
This bug appears unrelated to PR#1906, and so the fix of 8/15 doesn't help.
It comes from the line inside order():
ok <- !apply(sapply(z, is.na), 1, any)
where z=list(1) in my example. sapply() returns a single-element vector, not a
matrix, making apply() unhappy. This might

R> par(mfrow=c(1,1), oma=c(0,0,1,0))
R> title("Main Title")
The main title does not appear. However, uncommenting the third line

Extracting values in table
Hi All,
I am a beginner in programming in r and please do forgive me if my question
seems to be silly and sometimes not understandable.

ls<-list("N","E","E","N","P","E","M","Q","E","M")
2. We have an another list of tables in a list say:

Sys.putenv environment variables disappear (PR#1371)
Environment variables set with Sys.putenv() disappear (i.e. become "")
after a while, especially after heavy-duty I/O. Example:
R> x <- matrix(1., 3000, 3000)
R> save(x, file="myx.RData")
R> Sys.putenv(HOME="/tmp")
R> while (Sys.getenv("HOME") != "") {cat("ok\n"); load("myx.RData")}
The loop prints
