Sendmail-SMTP, Cyrus-IMAPD and plus (+) addressing.
Has anyone on this list got sendmail and cyrus-imapd configured so
that email addressed in the form username+folder at example.com gets
delivered directly to cyrus' user.username.inbox.folder?
I have been tinkering with this on and off for about a week and no
matter what I have tried, all traffic addressed in the +folder
format ends up in user.username.inbox instead.
If anyone has gotten

On-delivery deduplication?
-----BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE-----
Hash: SHA256
Hi,
A feature of Cyrus-IMAPd I really missed after migrated to Dovecot is
their optional "duplicate suppression", which eliminates duplicate
message at deliver time, if their envelope sender, recipient and
message-id matches. For example, if one subscribes to a mailing list,
and someone hit "Reply All" to reply to him, there

Outside mails
Hi,
I recently found out that I was able to get system mails, but not mails
from the outside world. What setting do I have to fiddle with for this?

Basic questions concerning mail...
Hey all,
A few minutes ago, I installed Dovecot, hoping things would get clear by
just looking at the relevant config files, but since they don't, I hope
someone here could give me a clue...
What I want to achieve is really only basic functionality. It's just for
personal use, so it shouldn't get too complicated. Up til now, I have
been using fetchmail to get my mail off of several

What about AA itself? Would addRequired<AliasAnalysis> keep
AliasAnalysis alive (but allow AliasAnalysis's dependencies to die)?

mail server: sendmail with integrated AD
I'm preparing my new Sendmail mail server with pop3s + smtps where user
authentication occurs through Microsoft Active Directory by Winbind daemon.
OS is Centos 6.4 and Sendmail is 8.14
Mailboxes will be in this server but how to create them !??!
It's necessary to add user by 'useradd' command into /etc/passwd or It's
only necessary add new entry in '/etc/aliases'

lda fails in parse_angle_addr if sieve is enabled
Hi,
Since updating to 2.3.1 on my FreeBSD mailserver mail delivery using
lda is broken if I have sieve enabled.
(Before updating this was 2.2 and pigeonhole 0.4)
FreeBSD 11.1-p8 amd64
Dovecot 2.3.1
Pigeonhole 0.5.1
Mailflow is OpenSMTPd as MTA, using mda delivery to rspamc which
utlimately delivers using dovecot-lda.

Voicemail WAV to PDA Problems
Our asterisk server has been up and running for over a year and it works
great. I have emails going to my account as an attachment and I can
listen to them on the desktop and it works fine. I just got a T-Mobile
MDA that runs Windows Pocket (or whatever they call it) and it can check
email. If I have it download the email, it gets the attachment, but it
can't seem to play it (it CAN

missing values for mda package
Dear helpers,
I am trying to use the mda package downloaded from the R website, but
the data set has missing values so I got an error message. Should I
manually handle these missing values? I was trying to read the documents
to specify any option related to missing values, but I did not find it.
Please forgive me if I ignore something obvious.
Thanks,

[LLVMdev] AnalysisUsage: addRequired vs. addRequiredTransitive
Hi,
I'm a bit confused about the distinction between addRequired and
addRequiredTransitive in AnalysisUsage. From PassAnalysisSupport.h:
"REQUIRES (must be available when the pass runs), REQUIRES TRANSITIVE
(must be available throughout the lifetime of the pass)."
The part that's confusing me is "must be available when the pass
runs". I don't see how

writing an MDA, help me avoid corrupted indexes
Hello.
First, I want to thank those responsible for Dovecot IMAP as it was a
real treat to implement in comparison to my mostly-failed attempts with
Cyrus. The passwd-file authentication was exactly what I needed as I
really didn't want to have to deal with PAM or LDAP but where I am
setting up a server with virtual accounts.
I'm using Postfix as an MTA, and it quite handily passes

pop3_lock_session question
Hello, I'm preparing to convert from qpopper + UW-IMAP to dovecot.
So far testing has gone very well. One problem we haven't figured
out is that long-running POP sessions keep the mailbox locked, so that
the MDA times out while trying to deliver. We're using "maildrop" as
our MDA if that matters.
We don't see this issue for dovecot IMAP sessions. During long-running

deliver vs lda
deliver is the binary name. but it's configured inside protocol lda {}
section. This is getting annoying, any thoughts on what would be a good
unifying name?
a) deliver binary, protocol deliver {}
b) lda binary, protocol lda {}
c) dovecot-lda binary, protocol lda {}
d) mda binary, protocol mda {}
e) dovecot-mda binary, protocol mda {}
f) something else?
In any case protocol lda {} would

Auto create folder(s)
Hi All,
does anyone know of a way to automatically create user folder(s)?
Like creating a Spam folder on login if not already there.
I've googled a bit but couldn't find anything relevant.
Any advice appreciated

Fisher's method in discriminant analysis
Hi,
I'm using mda library to solve a discriminant
analysis. I get results, but the thing is that I want
to use Fisher's method to obtain the classification
functions and I'm lost in what I should do: libraries
to use, ... Can anybody give me a clue??
Thanks.

Error message in function mars() in package mda
Hi,
I am using function mars() in package mda to find knots in a whole bunch
of predictor variables. I hope to be able to replicate all or some of
the basis functions that the MARS software from Salford Systems creates.
When I ran mars() on a small dataset, I was able to get the knots.
However, when I tried running mars() on a larger dataset (145 predictor
variables), for a different
