A "good" acl manual. http://www.vanemery.com/Linux/ACL/linux-acl.html As i do prefeer the debian os, but i do really like the archlinux wiki. https://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/Access_Control_Lists Greetz, Louis > -----Oorspronkelijk bericht----- > Van: samba [mailto:samba-bounces at lists.samba.org] Namens Frank Kahle > Verzonden: dinsdag 2 augustus 2016 13:55

frustrations with shares
I am trying to allow users with permissions in one group (DEV) to have full access to a folder that is owned by (QA). I have not been able to figure this out. Its running samba 4.2 in WORKGROUP mode (I can find everything for domain but I am not ready for that). Its running on freebsd on the latest nas4free build NAS with a ZFS file system.. Thanks in advance Frank Kahle FileCatalyst |

Time resolution on stored files?
I am using a Samba server not only for file sharing but also as a location for backup copies of Windows based files. I have tried using xcopy and a product call InSync from Dillobits software and I think both are running into the same problem. The problem is that these tools do not think that the time stamp on the file stored on Samba is the same as the time stamp stored on Window (in my

How do I check the release #?
I am a dovecot newbie and I am setting up a machine that already has dovecot installed. Since bugs are being resolved rapidly, it appears that I need to know the release version of dovecot I am running. Is there a command I can issue or a file I can examine to determine the release version of my installation? -- Randy

I dont know much about Solaris, but i found this. There are problems with ACL's across platforms: the uid has to match numerically the gid has to match numerically the NSF mount has to support the ACL operations, e.g., if the ACL grants write, but the remote file system is read-only then the ACL can not be honored. > Does it work if you manually add userPrincipalName=CLIENT02.DOMAIN.TLD to your clients ldap entry and reexport the keytab? I already thought about trying that. So by now, I tried tweaking the client's LDAP entry. Adding userPrincipalName=CLIENT02.DOMAIN.TLD does not succeeed, however, after reviewing the ldap filter once again, I added userPrincipalName=nfs/client02.domain.tld at

ggmap : ggplot2 and RgoogleMaps
Dear useRs - ggmap v1.2 is now available on CRAN. ggmap is a relatively new package which combines the power of ggplot2 with the spatial contextual information in Google Maps or OpenStreetMaps (via RgoogleMaps) to provide an easy, consistent and modular framework for spatial graphics. For examples on how to get started with ggmap, see ?ggmapplot for several examples of its use. Happy

Samba and kerberized NFSv4
Hi Marcel thx. for your fast response. I didn't manage to follow up sooner. I had already verbose logging turned on but I don't seem to find the real reason, why the domain controller searchs for a userPrincipalName instead of servicePrincipalName. Because I wasn't sure whether it is the nfs client process or the server process that failed to get the kerberos ticket when I tried the

Is there a join() function in R ? OR: simulating "Combining ggplot2 and Google Maps" by David Kahle
Hi everybody Im on R version 2.11.1 on Mac OS X I am working through David Kahle's example of using ggplot2 with Rgooglemaps (found here: https://github.com/hadley/ggplot2/wiki/Crime-in-Downtown-Houston,-Texas-:-Combining-ggplot2-and-Google-Maps). Excellent page by the way. I have downloaded the data and the code and want to learn how to do this by first simulating David's results and

Fukuoka Ruby Award--about $10,000 for first prize
I am working with the Government of Fukuoka, Japan to get the word out about the Fukuoka Ruby Award to Ruby developers in the US. It is free to apply for this award. The top prize is about $10,000. Deadline is December 25, so there is not much time, but the application is fairly simple for developers who have existing projects. Here are the details: Fukuoka Ruby Award

ggplot - some questions concerning histograms
Hello, I am a beginner with ggplot and after doing simple graphs (histogram, segments etc.) some questions came up: 1) I tried to do a histogram, but nothing is displayed although it works with another vector. I think it is because of the very small values (n=1000, min=1.222e-24 max, 1.890e-20). I used qplot(variable,geom="histogram")... If do it with the standard plot function it

Better way to count Active Record Data?
I am trying to get hourly counts of orders between different price ranges from my database. I''m thinking there has got to be a better way than looping through each record and checking if the created_at time fits between hour 1, 2, 3, 4, etc of the day and then returning the count. Currently I am displaying just a total of the days sales that are between different dollar amounts this
