bug in 'margins' behavior in reshape - cast
according to the documentation of the cast function in the reshape function,
I would expect this bit of code from the examples to calculate marginal
means over only the 'diet' variable.
#Chick weight example
names(ChickWeight) <- tolower(names(ChickWeight))
chick_m <- melt(ChickWeight, id=2:4, na.rm=TRUE)
cast(chick_m, diet + chick ~ time, mean, margins="diet")

large file support >4GB (nt4.0sp5->smb3.0.6-suse9.0-kernel2.4.21)
I am unable to copy a file larger than 4GB to a samba fileserver!
My config:
- client is windows nt 4.0 sp 5 (I tried sp 6 without any change, I tried
w2k, too)
- server (now) is samba 3.0.6 on suse linux 9.0 kernel
2.4.21-99-default/I586
- share is on a reiserfs hardware-raid array with plenty of free space
(explorer correctly _shows_ >500 GB, mapped as ntfs drive)
Every time I try to copy a

Postfix + Dovecot LDA Problem
I am having a problem setting up a server to handle e-mail in a way
in which it had always done traditionally, but with Postfix+Dovecot LDA.
Here's a rundown...
Solaris 9
Postfix 2.3.3
Dovecot 1.0.rc10
Postfix non-defaults (postconf -n):
alias_maps = dbm:/etc/mail/aliases
command_directory = /opt/postfix/sbin
config_directory = /etc/opt/postfix
daemon_directory = /opt/postfix/libexec

my postfix ignores myhostname parameter
Hello guys,
I do not know how it is posible :
*vi /etc/postfix/main.cf*

#
# The myhostname parameter specifies the internet hostname of this
# mail system. The default is to use the fully-qualified domain name
# from gethostname(). $myhostname is used as a default value for many
# other configuration parameters.

#myhostname = host.domain.tld

Codec negotiation for Thomson ST2030 and g729
Hi all,
i'm trouble with codec setup on an asterisk machine 1.4.18 and some
Thomson ST2030 as extensions.
In the users.conf file for internal extension i have:
disallow=all
allow=g729
allow=alaw
allow=ulaw
Without any codec installed (i mean with original g729 of asterisk)
all go fine, calling from an extension to one other:

Running dovecot master processes across multiple IPs
We are running dovecot 1.1.8 and are currently running it with 4 master
processes (one for each of the protocols: imap, imaps, pop3, pop3s).
The idea was to spread out the load so as to not overwhelm any one master.
This has worked well. To take it further, we're contemplating running
masters across multiple IP addresses, where the host/service name DNS
records would be something like this:

Dovecot SASL doesn't seem to be working with Postfix
I've tried to setup Postfix to use SASL, but it still doesn't seem to be
working with Dovecot. I've set things up based on these instructions:
http://wiki.dovecot.org/HowTo/SimpleVirtualInstall
http://wiki.dovecot.org/HowTo/PostfixAndDovecotSASL
http://wiki.dovecot.org/LDA
I've compiled Postfix with Dovecot SASL and SSL/TLS support. The problems
I'm seeing in Postfix are:

mbox sync failure2
Hello, list,
I'm new here and also new to Dovecot. On Friday evening (perhaps not the best
moment...) I sent the following question but it seems to have been lost
somehow:
Yesterday I had to reboot my server machine and I think there was an email
client connected from the LAN during the reboot which I did not notice then.
Now that mailbox is no longer accessible: as soon as I try to

I Have Multiple Ips But Can Only Telnet to One Interface. Not the subinterface. How to Fix?
There must be something else keeping the instance of postfix from listening
on that IP & port. When I set the config to localhost it only sends out
using the main postfix instance and it uses the wrong IP to do so. I'm
thinking something at the CENTOS level. I cannot get the port to open
on 172.30.1.65
regardless of what I try.
Again here is the config I have in /etc/postfix-immt/main.cf.

and mysql on ubuntu server 7.04. Everything seems to be working fine with
sending recieving emails but relaying on submission service (port 587). I
want to allow any client to be able to relay as long as they AUTH using
dovecot SASL and are valid users regardless of what IP/host they come in
from. I have a

S4-Winbind dumping core on password
Samba4-winbind (sernet-samba-4.0.9) on RHEL 6.4 dumps core on password authentication for a domain user (su/sudo), and so domain password authentication fails.? The machine is a standalone server in a Windows AD (2008R2) domain.
PuTTY logins using GSSAPI work fine, kdestroy/kinit succeeds with AD password, but su'ing to the userid from a puttty session fails. The issue seems to be related to
