Bug-report for rc28: Mailbox isn't a valid mbox file
Hi, When I try to open the attached mbox file I get the following warning in Thunderbird 1.5.0.10: 'The current command failed. The e-mail server responded: Mailbox isn't a valid mbox file'. I also tried this with squirrelmail, with the same result. The Dovecot version is dovecot-1.0.rc28, compiled from source. The attached mbox was correctly read from, and written to in earlier

authenticating with LDAP and SSL
I managed to configure Dovecot to use a local OpenLDAP server to authenticate clients, without using SSL. However, I would rather that LDAP is accessed using SSL, but I cannot get Dovecot to connect. All that I did was change "uris" to "ldaps://localhost", and this appears in the maillog: Mar 18 12:53:00 server dovecot: Dovecot v1.0.rc15 starting up Mar 18 12:53:01 server

rc15 in FC6
Hi, just a note that FC6 now has the very latest of dovecot as an official update. :) It will upgrade the atrpms packages automatically to the official vendor version, there is nothing you need to take care of. -- Axel.Thimm at ATrpms.net -------------- next part -------------- A non-text attachment was scrubbed... Dovecot Wiki: Orphaned page on mbox locking
The following shows up in the "orphaned page" list of the Wiki: http://wiki.dovecot.org/MboxLocking?action=show&redirect=MboxSoftwareLocks Does the description of Dovecot mbox locking still apply to current versions? If yes, it should be linked from the "Troubleshooting" page. -- Jim Garrison (jhg at acm.org) PGP Keys at http://www.jhmg.net RSA 0x04B73B7F DH 0x70738D88

UW-IMAP style mbox snarfing from /var/mail/ to ~/mbox
http://dovecot.org/patches/mbox-snarf-plugin.c Also committed to CVS HEAD. Usage: mail_location = mbox:~/mail:INBOX=/var/mail/%u protocol imap { mail_plugins = mbox_snarf } protocol pop3 { mail_plugins = mbox_snarf } plugin { mbox_snarf = ~/mbox } If ~/mbox doesn't exist, nothing special is done. If ~/mbox exists, it's treated as INBOX and mails are moved from /var/mail/%u

Possible bug with removing e-mail when user over fs quota
Dear list, I don't know if this is by design or possibly a bug, but there is a difference when removing e-mail when a user is over filesystem quota when indexing is on or off. All is working fine on our servers when indexing is on, users can remove then purge e-mail when over quota, but when we turn off indexing (by setting INDEX=MEMORY) it doesn't work. Users can remove, but

pre-1.0.rc27: Index and mbox fixes
I've been doing some stress testing in the last few days and fixing all the errors I saw. I'm hoping that I've finally really fixed all the index/mbox problems. So, again I think the only thing left for v1.0 is the documentation. Please test this nightly snapshot before I'll release rc27 tomorrow: http://dovecot.org/nightly/dovecot-latest.tar.gz If you've seen any of the

mbox sync/lock issue, rc28 and later
Help! I just noticed this error this morning, we have been getting a lot of these in rc28 and rc29, not in rc27 or before: Apr 6 07:22:52 karst dovecot: [ID 107833 mail.error] IMAP(jaearick): mbox file /var/mail/j/jaearick was modified while we were syncing, check your locking settings Pine coughed up an internal error, no core dump, and dovecot basically doubled the size of my mailbox by

Dovecot on CentOS5 - (login) returned error 127
Running CentOS Linux 5 with sendmail-procmail putting email in /var/spool/mail. I'm running pop3 only with the servers configured to authenticate with ldap (which is configured and running OK). I do have this same configuration on an older FC6 box and it works fine. I'm thinking I just need to upgrade dovecot given all the nss_ldap problems it has had, but I hate not using RPM

unix style mbox and vmain maildir on the same server
Hi, I'm new to dovecott. Using version 1.0.rc15. I have a mail server that has both the old style unix mbox in /var/mail/%u, and virtual mail maildir in /var/vmail/%d/%n. Debian Linux Etch stable. I'm trying to get dovecot to deliver to /var/mail/%u using mbox format, and to deliver to /var/vmail/%d/%n using maildir format. I can't get it do work. I can get it to access both

Listen on several (but not all) Interfaces
Hi, I'm using Dovecot 1.0rc15 from Debian stable/etch. I'd like to have Dovecot listen on more than one interface. It shall listen on one IPv4 Interface and on one IPv6 Interface. The comments in the sample configuration file say, that it's not possible to listen on more than one interface at a time. Sadly it's no option to me to listen on all interfaces. So I'd like to ask
