can a worker commit suicide?
Can a worker kill themselves when they''re ''done''? Or do I have to do that either from the controller or the worker manager?
Thanks,
Bill

Mongrel Pre-Release 0.3.13 -- Katana Suicide Concurrency
We are *days* away from the official 0.3.13 release, which will be
followed quickly by 0.4 code named Enterprisey Edition 1.2. This latest
pre-release update closes off the last of the annoying bugs, and adds
one very nasty feature people should check out before we release. Read
about Katanas below.

Unwanted INBOX. prefix issues
I have a strange problem. I installed Dovecot and had my trash folder and
such in the root of my maildir, and everything was working great. I then
installed SquirrelMail which created folders in with the INBOX. prefix. I
manually removed these from the maildir, but the INBOX.Trash is still shown
in the folder listing of Thunderbird. This leads to some strange behavior,

Return error instead of dying on time back skip?
Hello everybody!
Currently, dovecot just kills itself if it detects that time has moved
backwards more than a hardcoded number of seconds. I accept the
reasons, but I do not like to restart dovecot manually after waiting
for time to move forward again. A cron job would not help, because
time might still be wrong when it restarts dovecot.
All our systems run ntpd, but they might be offline

rc2x seems to break Pegasus Mail
Hi guys,
I upgraded from rc7 to rc24 a couple weeks ago, and noticed today that
Pegasus Mail's IMAP no longer connects. So I put rc27 in, and it
worked, but only for a little while...
I'm not sure what the problem might be, the logs look fine, and I can
still use Horde and Evolution without a problem. Pegasus Mail's error
is unfortunately not helpful.
Restarting rc27 didn't

IMAP: Disconnected: BUG: Unknown internal error (Dovecot 1.0.3)
Hi,
I am getting the following error in the server mail logfile:
> Sep 2 18:39:44 h648123 dovecot: IMAP(<account>)(<PID>): Disconnected: BUG: Unknown internal error
(mail_debug is on, but there is not really much context for this in
the log file, ie. no log events for several minutes, and then it
appears, all of a sudden).
On the client side, it looks like this (with some

1.0.rc27 released
http://dovecot.org/releases/dovecot-1.0.rc27.tar.gz
http://dovecot.org/releases/dovecot-1.0.rc27.tar.gz.sig
A few new small features and lots of index/mbox fixes. I've been heavily
stress testing this release, so I think it should be about perfect. :)
I think the only thing still missing from v1.0 is documentation. There
are some unwritten pages in the wiki, and I still haven't bothered

Dovecot LDA issues
We've seen two issues come up with Dovecot LDA, both of which have
caused us problems:
1) If the user's home directory does not exist, or is not owned by them,
deliver fails and causes the mail message to bounce back to the
originator. In our environment this happens when our user is moved
to another server (where we move their files, but for up to 24 hours

Worker suicide
Hi the list people, hi Ezra,
I just read from this message
http://rubyforge.org/pipermail/backgroundrb-devel/2006-July/000134.html that
BackgrounDRb will offer a way to kill a worker from within itself.
As this message is from 7/25, I wonder if this feature has been added since.
If not, is there any way to do it? I tried this:
MiddleMan.delete_worker(@_job_key)
But it raise:

pre-1.0.rc27: Index and mbox fixes
I've been doing some stress testing in the last few days and fixing all
the errors I saw. I'm hoping that I've finally really fixed all the
index/mbox problems. So, again I think the only thing left for v1.0 is
the documentation. Please test this nightly snapshot before I'll release
rc27 tomorrow:

Hi all,
We have a client that needs to setup about 80 desk phones (about 50
in one location and about another 30 in 5 different locations). Which
brand/model would you recommend. We were personally thinking in
recommending either Cisco, Aastra, Polycom, or Snom, for we've heard
great things about them. However, having no real experience with them
makes it hard in recommending one to

Doubled mails and UIDs

I'm still seeing mails being downloaded twice via POP3 in my setup,

NTP and virtual guests
We encountered a problem with respect to KVM virtual host restore and
NTP. Specifically, our VM test host was shutdown by an extended power
outage and when power returned all of the restored guests were
immediately shutdown by ntp because the time differential between the
restored systems and that of the ntpd sync servers exceeded the panic
threshold.
This is not an acceptable situation so in the

mbox sync/lock issue, rc28 and later
Help!
I just noticed this error this morning, we have been getting a
lot of these in rc28 and rc29, not in rc27 or before:
Apr 6 07:22:52 karst dovecot: [ID 107833 mail.error] IMAP(jaearick): mbox file /var/mail/j/jaearick was modified while we were syncing, check your locking settings
Pine coughed up an internal error, no core dump, and dovecot
basically doubled the size of my mailbox by
