List of tables rather than an extra dimension in the table or (l)apply(xtabs)
I'm not sure how to best explain what I am after but here goes. I have a data frame with 2 geographical factors. One is the major region the other is the component regions.
I am trying to process all the regions at the same time without using "for". So I need (think, I do) a list of matrices each structured according to the number of subregions within each region.
So is there a

Problem in long timeouts file access
I have a very strange problem accessing some files on a samba share that
are in use from many windows7 client machines. I'm experiencing long
timeouts: 5-30 seconds per file on very small xml files.
The share is accessed by contemporary Windows7 machines at the time they
are shut down.
It seems to me that some of the files remain opened and locked to all
other clients at server side while the

Issues with acl_xattr module
Hi all, i'm new in this mailing list, i need some help with a problem i
experience with my samba setup.
I set up a fileserver on top of debian 6 with samba-3.6.6 on an XFS
filesystem partition.
I tried to use vsf acl_xattr for better windows compatibility and it
seems generally working good, but i experience some strange behavior: I
added two acls with different restrictions one for a

import DTM with readRAST6()
Hello everybody,
I am a new R & Grass user.
I am interested in doing a kriging of the Temperature in a basin,
based on pixel elevation (DTM).
I use Grass 6.2.1 and R 2.5.1 and have installed the spgrass6 package.
The DTM is called "DTM_trentino_100m" and is like this:
north:5158000.0
south:5058500.0
east:1729700.0
west:1611600.0

Skew-Normal CDF using psn
Dear R-users,
I have been using the code below in order to verify how the CDF of a
skew-normal distribution was calculated:
library(sn)
s=seq(-30,30,by=0.1)
a<-matrix(nrow=length(s),ncol=5)
lambda=1
for(i in 1:length(s)){
a[i,1]=pnorm(s[i],mean=0,sd=1);
a[i,2]=T.Owen(s[i],lambda);
a[i,3]=a[i,5]-2*a[i,6];
a[i,4]=pnorm(s[i])-2*T.Owen(s[i],lambda);

Behavior different inside function?
I'm stumped with this. When I execute the lines in the function singly, they
run fine, but when I run the function, I get this error on the read.table()

Can anyone tell my why this should be so? Here is the program:

snmp ups Status: Not supported
Hi
I set up my ups with driver snmp-ups, and it get recognized as a AEC T2003.
In the nut-cgi upstats page input/output/load are displayed corectly, but the
Status field is marked as "Not supported".
Is "Status" important to initiate shutdown in case of low battery ? Will my
server shut down correctly ?
thanks
Massimo
I include "upsc snmp@localhost" output:
