tilde in mbox:, when used in non-system user db
Originally I've thought that this is related to INBOX field,
but it turned out it happens only when you specify mbox.
Consider following passwd-file:
testms::10000:10000:imap,,,:/home/vmail/ppgk.com.pl/testms/./::userdb_mail=mbox:~/Mail:INBOX=/home/vmail/ppgk.com.pl/%u/inbox
or following line from userdb static:
args = uid=10000 gid=10000 home=/home/vmail/ppgk.com.pl/%u/./

chroot and raw logging
I'm not sure if it's even intended to work in this particular
case, but there's a problem when chroot is explicitely defined
and rawlogging is used. Rawlog respects chroot point, without
being actually chrooted.
Consider configurtion as below, with two cases (dovecot.rawlog
dir is of course created earlier, with appropriate uid/gid).

[PATCH 2/5] ocfs2/dlm: add lockres as parameter to dlm_new_lock()
Wether the dlm_lock needs to access lvb or not depends on dlm_lock_resource it belongs to. So a new parameter "struct dlm_lock_resource *res" is added to dlm_new_lock() so that we can know if we need to allocate lvb for the dlm_lock. And we have to make the lockres availale for calling dlm_new_lock().

smbd hanging on OS X 10.4.8
Hi,
If process all my mounts prior to the "..." bit below. It looks as if
it's hanging while processing some printer config. On that assumption
and since I don't and never have had any printers attached, I've
commented out the '[printers]' section from smb.conf. No section
contains a 'printable = yes'. I've tried with all sections containing

Variable %h not recognized in userdb_mail (passwd-file)
As in subject, if you for instance create a simple passwd-file with:
test at domain.tld:{plain}pass:20000:10::/home/regular/.test::userdb_mail=maildir:%h/maildir
Dovecot (rc23 & 27) will expand %h to empty string, and try to make a

Xattrs and Delete over AFP
Hello group,
I have an OSX 10.3.9 Server that I'm trying to back up with rsync 3.0.2.
Since I didn't have any luck with the 10.3.9 patch and I do have 10.4 clients,
I decided to try running the backup over AFP (Apple's file sharing protocol).
I found a way to mount the AFP volume with root permissions and rsync 3.0.2
works very nicely using this on the 10.4 clients, preserving

fchown() failed
Hello all,
I'm not sure if this question is better posed to a Fedora group because
I have only had this problem since I upgraded from F9 to F11, but I
figured that the specialised knowledge here might help me more...
I have been getting these entries in syslog since upgrading. Today for
instance I got:

Maildir permissions and Solr re-indexing
I am running a very small dovecot installation with only one user (me).
I use the Solr indexer for indexing. Due to complicated reasons, I was
forced to remove all the indexes and need to re-index everything.
All the files in my Maildir are owned by md5i:mail (I am md5i), and have
660 permissions. All directories have the same user:group permissions,
and 770 with the setguid bit set. (That

deliver and cloning file permissions
Hi!
I'd like to use deliver (dovecot-1.2.10) as LDA to deliver mails to my
local users on my postfix-system.
However, deliver tries to copy the filesystem permissions of the
mail-spool-files to the user's index files, which doesn't work, since
the files in /var/mail/ belong to the group 'mail'.

Performance of madvise / msync
Hi,
I'm using py-rrdtool 0.2.1 with rrdtool 1.3.0 under 7.0-STABLE, and
there's a couple of things about this new version of rrdtool that
hurt performance under FreeBSD, but apparently help on whatever they
tested on.
For every update, the database file is opened, mapped into memory,
madvise() is called, contents are modified, msync() is called, and
the file is unmapped and closed:

Occasional fchown errors?
Hi:
I get the occasional error below. Is there something I don't have
configured correctly? Or should I just ignore this? It is not always
this file, sometimes it is the cache.lock file or the log.newlock file.
I have a mail client running on my computer and my phone at the same
time, could that have something to do with it?
