flock problems with index files and passwd-file
While experimenting a bit, I found that for some reason, locking indexes with flock is problematic, but only if user is taken from passwd-file. The host system is openbsd 3.9, dovecot's configuration is added at the bottom. Authentication is from two places - first from mentioned passwd-file, then from passwd file using bsdauth (in this case, there're no problems with flock). So, if

Could not override "mail_location" with "userdb_mail" statment in "/etc/passwd"
Hi, ** Using Dovecot 2.2.22 and Postfix 3.1.0 ** I plan to migrate all accounts on my server from mbox to maildir storage but before i want to make some tests on dedicated accounts. To do so i want to overide the general "mail_location" ( mail_location = mbox:~/mail:INBOX=/var/mail/%u ) with "maildir:~/Maildir" only for some test accounts. To do so i modified my

Yes, I have still inbox mbox format because I have sendmail delivering there. I trying to migrate/convert step by step, with least possible impact for users. -----Original Message----- From: Aki Tuomi Sent: dinsdag 14 mei 2019 6:19 To: Marc Roos; Marc Roos via dovecot Subject: Re: Userdb userdb_mail=, error Mailbox list driver maildir++: maildir_name not supported by this driver > On

Userdb userdb_mail=, error Mailbox list driver maildir++: maildir_name not supported by this driver
I have this default configuration [0], when use the userdb_mail to point to the mdbox location, the inbox subfolders show differently in a firebird client. So I decided to copy the whole default mail_location into the userdb_mail configuration [2]. But then I get errors [3]. Should I change the namespace configuration here, how? My default namespaces are inbox and 4archives [0] [@ ]#

Userdb userdb_mail=, error Mailbox list driver maildir++: maildir_name not supported by this driver
With this setting, all folders are empty, I guess understandable, because the mdbox has its own indexes stored locally with it. Does not explain though why inbox is empty. [@ dovecot]# cat special-userdb test:x:8267:231:Account with special settings for dovecot:/home/popusers/test:/bin/false:userdb_mail=mdbox:~/mdbox:INBOX=/ var/spool/mail/%u:INDEX=/var/dovecot/%u/index With this setting

sieve not respecting userdb_mail setting?
It appears that the lda + sieve does not respect the userdb_mail setting, though the imap server does(!?). Is this expected behavior? Perry -- Perry E. Metzger perry at piermont.com

Oh you have multiple db's, I missed that. Remove auth_username_format, and instead userdb { args = /etc/imap.passwd username_format=%Ln driver = passwd-file override_fields = home=/var/vmail/glu_vrem/%u } On 29.06.2017 14:35, Evgeniy Korneechev wrote: > with auth_username_format = %Ln: > > Jun 28 14:43:41 auth: Debug: master in: USER 1 iivanov.ia at example.com

trying to combine static userdb with LDAP passdb with per-user userdb_mail and userdb_home
Hello, dovecot users. I'm trying to cope with following problem I have single computer which will be going to be final destination for several virtual domains. Domains are stored in LDAP catalog. Dovecot will be working together with Postfix MTA running on same computer. I'm a bit confused how to achieve following thing: I want Postfix to use Dovecot LMTP server for mail delivery. All

crash in mail_cache_transaction_reset on rc22
I've not been able to roll out rc23 yet (tonight, I hope) but I just saw a crash which I'm not sure I've seen reported before, following a server outage (that is to say, the server came back up and one of the users had a dovecot core). #0 0x0005d720 in mail_cache_transaction_reset (ctx=0xcf928) at mail-cache-transaction.c:71 No locals. #1 0x0005e8bc in mail_cache_add

auth_user setting?
Hi all, I've installed rc23 in a new testing machine, and i've had some permission problems related to dovecot-master.conf. As I have my master passwords in that file, I don't want it to be world readable. dovecot -n shows that auth_user is nobody, so setting the permissions to nobody.whatever 640 solves the problem. Anyway, I've tried to change the auth_user setting with no

Double homedirs and tilde problems in case of chroot in passwd-file / static dbs.
Recently I've made the post about "double homedir" problem, but I couldn't recreate it later. Here're the exact steps to make it happen (configuration is at the bottom): 1) set configuration as below with passwd-files 2) clean testms dir (not necessary though) 3) reload dovecot (HUP is enough) 4) access the server with any client using testms user (make sure no other

Asterisk+mISDN drops calls after 3-4 secs
Hi, I have an Asterisk 1.2.9.1 box on a Debian distro with mISDN drivers. I installed the new driver (0.3.1-rc30) on our pbx but since no voice was passing I decided to go back to old version (0.3.1-rc23). Last friday everything seemed to work fine but now every incoming call drops after 3-4 seconds while Asterisk console is showing these messages: Apr 23 12:42:39 DEBUG[7625]:
