Problems with (probably) Dovecot
Hello altogether,
I've got Dovecot 0.99 installed on a Suse Linux 9.2 system, together
with Postfix. I need to upgrade that server in the near future to new
hardware and new versions, but at the moment it would be great, if I
could find the solution for the following problem without upgrading.
Unfortunately I didn't find a solution in Google.
The system has enough memory and disc

IMAP Fetch fails with BAD instead of NO
Hi,
I'm running version 1.0.3 of dovecot using IMAP and using javamail to access
the mail. The application I'm using (when stress testing the system by
doing simultaious creation of email and deleting emails, it sometimes get
into the state where the application (via javamail) ask for the UID of a
message that has been expunged and deleted (no longer exists). Dovecot

Troubleshooting help
Somehow, hopefully to be determined, I got my Thunderbird/dovecot
Fedora Core 3 configuration into a real snit, such that I can no
longer access my INBOX.
When Thunderbird tries to get the INBOX content (or get new mail) it
reports "The current command did not succeed. The mail server
responded: Invalid messageset: -2147483648:*." Scouring logs and
googling has come up empty. Now

Bug in yesterday's CVS..
Hi Timo.
I'm doing some testing with yesterday's CVS code and believe I've found a
bug.
In SquirrelMail, I get 5 messages in INBOX (doesn't matter how). I click
"Toggle All" then "Delete". All 5 messages move to Trash.
The Trash folder gets a link "expunge". I click that and get the
following error:
ERROR : Bad or malformed request.

1.0-test77
http://dovecot.org/
It's hot in here. Something like 25-30c for many days now. My brains
don't work in that heat.
So, this is still not an 1.0-alpha1. I'll put it out when I think the
release will actually be fully working :)
Changes since test76:
- Fixes to FETCHing MIME body parts, especially with message/rfc822
attachments. We hadn't been handling this entirely correctly

imap problems; error accessing inbox and some other folders
Hello all,
First off, please let me apologize for cross posting this in both the
fedora and centos lists.
I have just run into a problem with imap that's becoming a real issue.
About two or three days ago some of the mail folders became
unusable/unreadable. For instance, my inbox shows 41 unread messages when
I access it through pine on the server. But if I imap into it from

segfault in RC15
Hi all, ive seen a few segfaults in RC15. It's hard for me to reproduce
but I was able to get a core when it happened with one of our customers.
RC15
FreeBSD 4.10
X86
NFS/NetApp
It's squirrelmail/webmail client.
Can't reproduce it, cant turn on dovecot.rawlog because I dont know in
advance which customer will hit this. See it about 5 times per hour,
with thousands of logins per hour.

dovecot 2.2.13 core dump (signal 11)
We just upgraded from 2.1.16 to 2.2.13. One user is experiencing
problems when using the shared namespace. Specifically it happens when
opening/reading a message and when deleting messages. These functions
work for other users. So far, this appears to be only affecting one user.
The shared folder is a local ext4 file system and utilizes acls

2.2.12: Panic: file mail-index.c: line 380 (mail_index_keywords_unref): assertion failed: (keywords->refcount > 0)

INDEXPVT. Not sure if this crash started immediately or not, noticed it
today looking at journalctl.
Backtrace http://bpaste.net/raw/181944/ and pasted below.
This seems to crash on every IMAP connection made, so any ideas for a
possible client-level workaround are quite welcome until dovecot code
improves here.

imap segfaults when using antispam plugin, and moving mail to an 'unsure' folder.
I put up a question on serverfault first, which has the details,
including a stack trace:
http://serverfault.com/questions/713687/dovecot-antispam-error-storing-mail
. Details also copied below.
Is this a known bug? If I built dovecot from source rather than using
the Ubuntu 14.04 packages, would I expect that to help? Are there any
configuration details that might be relevant? (dovecot -n

Benchmarking
I wasted too much time today doing this, but they do show a few
interesting things:
1) mmap_disable=yes is faster than mmap_disable=no. I didn't expect
this. I'm not yet sure why this is, but possibly because then it updates
the mail index by reading the changes from dovecot.index.log, instead of
reopening and re-mmaping dovecot.index. At least that's the biggest
difference between

Loadable module
Hi List!
I read a post about moving a .mailbixlist to a .subscriptionfile when a user
did not have one, but did have a .mailboxlist file. Timo emailed a module
for that purpose, so it could be done for this user.
My question is:
- Where and how does dovecot call this function?
- Would it be easy to use a module to a) create a mailpath (can be done as
the mailuser's id, I use one uid, and my

wxruby-swig on Windows & possible release
I''m trying to build wxruby-swig on windows with the idea of building a
windows installer for it. I think that this would go a long way toward
encouraging windows developers to try out wxruby-swig. What do you think?
Are we far enough along to contemplate a release?
Building wxruby-swig on windows is actually going pretty smoothly, but I
want to build it with vc++ 7.1 to match the
