Compile/Package / Config/Run 2.8.1 / Raspberry / UPS
I'm trying to Compile/Package and then (on a different box) Config/Run 2.8.1. Both boxes are Raspberry Pi 4b on Bullseye with a generic USB UPS. -- I'm trying to get nut running on my Raspberry (bullseye/11). (I'd also love to share a working 2.8.1 for Raspberry with the world, but...) I compiled the latest code from git: version 2.8.1-774-g963abbd87 I compiled it on one system

Ok - I'm wondering is this is a systemd config bit? systemctl restart nut-driver at malaysia.service Job for nut-driver at malaysia.service failed because the control process exited with error code. See "systemctl status nut-driver at malaysia.service" and "journalctl -xeu nut-driver at malaysia.service" for details. root at malaysia:~# systemctl status nut-driver at

Normally yes - enable and start the target and the particular services relevant to your setup. For the binary you have from packaging (if not rebuilt as suggested earlier), set debug_min=3 in ups.conf section for upscode2, to currently trade driver viability for some storage traffic with more logs :\ Sorry about that, Jim On Wed, Jul 5, 2023, 02:29 Karl Schmidt <karl at lrak.net> wrote:

Ah, I thought you missed in my earlier reply the part about a bug with debug printouts in 2.8.0 (fixed on master since), did not comment on that when you replied with quoting... So, for now options are to bump debugging to 3+ or to build your own in one of many ways possible :\ On Wed, Jul 5, 2023, 06:23 Karl Schmidt <karl at lrak.net> wrote: > On 7/4/23 10:01PM, Jim Klimov wrote: >

Custom udev rules to override defaults?
I'm trying to work out how to set up a custom udev rule to override permissions on serial ports (/dev/ttyS* and /dev/ttyUSB*) on CentOS 5.3 The default rule, in /etc/udev/rules.d/50-udev.rules has the line: KERNEL=="tty[A-Z]*", NAME="%k", GROUP="uucp", MODE="0660" and I would like the mode to be 0666 Various docs on web say that you

Kernel paging request error
Reposting from xen-users (no response) I''m having a problem with: http://pastebin.com/CuGHqwhy It occurs on the reboot, but sometimes, when I try to start manually one of my machines. Sometime, one of the machines does not want to start permanently and I have to reinstall/restore it. This problem comes for me randomly, but maybe there is a trigger. I''ve tried to follow:

Weekend Puzzle: computer posing as an UPS
I guess I should scratch the idea about fan sockets as the power source: they are rated typically at 0.2A each, so fan headers should be expected 1A max (3A in some vendors/models), well under the 5A that the RPi5 wants. That, or use a low current source such as the fan header to control a 5v switch feeding the pi from a different source. Same net result, and no excess loads on your mobo. (Might be able to work this into the case using a spare power supply connector to feed it . . .) Still have not figured out why though, but that's not relevant to what you are trying to accomplish. Weekend Puzzle: computer posing as an UPS
Follow-up: * Powering the Raspberry Pi5 from an USB-C port wired on the motherboard was much more promising, it survived over 8 hours building NUT in a loop (in a tmpfs). And in the morning I found it turned off (red light on the Pi). * Per https://stackoverflow.com/questions/4702216/controlling-a-usb-power-supply-on-off-with-linux it seems not possible to programmatically truly power-cycle USB

simplest boot to set hardware clock
Well I found a significant source of my problems with these decTOPs. Hardware clock is back at Jan 2006. And many things fail..... And there is no way to access the bios from a boot sequence. On the one I discovered this, I watched everything get errors during all the reboots a Trixbox install goes through. Once I was allowed to log in, I ended using date to set the system date and

[PATCH 3/3] Backport skb_transport_header as a BUG.. Since kvm host side does not support GSO anyway the simplest/fastest thing is to backport the relative new skb_transport_header as BUG.

The simplest bar graph with ggplot is difficult to realize
Dear all, What is the simplest way of producing a bar graph using ggplot but avoiding calling qplot? That is, given: d <- data.frame(x=seq(1,5), y=seq(1,5)) Why does the following line return an error? ggplot(d, aes(x=x, y=y)) + stat_identity() + geom_bar(bindwidth=1) Thanks in advance, jcb!

simplest possible xyz plot
New to R, and didn't find the following in the docs. Main use for R. to get feet wet, is to pipe in x,y,z data, one point per line, and plot it in 3d, like this: { echo 1,2,3 echo 2,4,6 ... } | R ... But functions like contour seem to require index vectors that are sorted. I am curious why, and how to convert. Also, I am curious whether any Lisp person has ever written a front end to R

how to setup a simplest travel-mode read-only IMAP
Hi All, I don't use gmail/hotmail etc... I have been a Mozilla/SeaMonkey/Thunderbird user for ever now... The mail and folders are all on my private fileserver. But on certain tours, I do know in advance that I would like IMAP access to my mail folders. Nothing but the simplest read-only access to the years of accumulated email. (All that email was soft-mounted onto /mnt/mail for safety and
