Log data on dovecot-auth socket
Hi, Is there any way I can monitor or log the data that is being received/sent on the dovecot-auth socket? I'm trying to debug some authentication stuff, and monitoring the conversation would be very useful. Thanks! Koen

Samba password problem when in domain
Hi, In our network, I have set up a samba server in a workgroup. We're now migrating to a domain, using SBS 2003. When I locally login on XP and access the samba server, it works just fine. But, when I login on the domain and then try to access the same samba box, it doesn't accept my password. The username for my samba account and account on the domain are the same. Also, the name of

Static list of users with passdb pam
Hi, On my system, I want to provide imap access for some of the users listed in /etc/passwd. The list of users should be provided by me, and should just be a list in a text file. All the userdb options are static (uid, gid, home directory). Unfortunately, I cannot think of a way to configure Dovecot to do this. The closest I get is with: passdb pam {} userdb passwd-file { args =

Dovecot-compatible web-based sieve configurator
Hi, I've set up dovecot with postfix and I'm using the dovecot LDA. It seems that sieve works, but I'm not that good at writing sieve scripts and I'd like to install something more user-friendly anyway. So: Does anyone know of a web-based sieve configurator that works with the dovecot implementation? I haven't been able to find one yet... Koen

Hello list, while fiddling around with the configuration so Dovecot's LDA "deliver" can be used by multiple users by means of Getmail (you can read about that in [1]) I always end up running into the error message posted in the subject line: Jan 15 00:00:02 HOSTNAME deliver(USERID): Can't connect to auth server at /usr/local/var/run/dovecot/auth-master: Permission denied

[LLVMdev] Using LLVM as a crosscompiler
Hi Koen, The process to build llvm-gcc as a crosscompiler is basically the same as build a normal gcc as crosscompiler. The differences: you need a LLVM installed (compiled for the host). You must configure llvm-gcc with --enable-llvm. Problems: - Today LLVM supports ARM/EABI, but llvm-gcc don't. You must apply the patch:

Lookup master userdb used with GSSAPI causes auth-worker to report "Error: BUG: PASSL had invalid passdb ID"
Hello to everybody, I'm in the process of setting up test mail server (Ubuntu 19.10 amd64 running as VM under Hyper-V) and got stuck on configuring master user authentication. I use GSSAPI authentication in parallel with PLAIN/LOGIN (pam backend that authenticates against my Active Directory domain) and this works as intended. I then tried adding simple static master passdb that simply

Using pgsql with 'cram-md5 auth' and 'hmac-md5 scheme'
Hello, I want to use PostgreSQL to store my Dovecot users. I setup a very basic configuration, following word for word this page http://wiki.dovecot.org/DovecotPostgresql and it works ... almost. In fact, it works if I use PLAIN password scheme in my database. However, I would like to store them encrypted. But, if I replace the password field for my user with {HMAC-MD5}-... (the password

Permission denied on GPT.ini (Event ID 1058)
Sorry for my delayed response, my job has had me out of state for a while. I wanted to add that I am not getting the Kerberos error in my event logs. It just flat out claims that it cannot read gpt.ini for some reason. This happens randomly, whether dc01 or dc02 is the logon server, and the strange part is that most PCs can work fine, but one or two randomly won't. In other words, if pc1 and
