I tried using samba's internal dns server just to see if this made a difference, but it did not. On Sat, Jul 30, 2016 at 9:06 PM, Jeff Sadowski <jeff.sadowski at gmail.com> wrote: > It is. Failover DC did not work when Main DC failed
My reverse zones have PTR records. Though I don't have NS records for all of my DC's. I guess that needs to be manually created. Also, you don't have any CNAMES or domain overrides pointing to a single DC? Perhaps Bind is pointing to another internal DNS server, and then to a public DNS? ---- Here's a way to test failover from a Windows client: You can switch logon servers

Joining Windows Server 2012 to a Samba 3.5 or 3.6 domain
I have a samba classic domain, with a Samba 3.5.10 domain controller. I am trying to join a Windows Server 2012 R2 client. I have updated the registry. Intermittent access to Sysvol/Netlogon shares
Hello all- Cutting to the chase, I'm noticing varying/intermittent access to the netlogon and sysvol shares. All clients are windows 7 and samba is 4.0.6. Some clients are able to run 'gpupdate /force' and will successfully apply updates. Other clients fail out on this and state that it can't read the default domain policy GPT.INI file from \\<domain>\.... When I try to

Windows 11 24H2, Samba 4.21.3 AD DC and domain users cannot log in
I have been busy with other things lately and have not been able to investigate issue more. But there were some issues before it got really bad. But strange thing is, that clean install of 22H2 had same issue after successfully joining domain. And issue remained after upgrading to 23H2. And 22H2 did not even have latest security updates available. For me strangest part is, that after using
