Cannot chown file to active directory user/group on member server
Hi,
I need to change ownership of server files to user/group defined in active
directory ( using rfc2307 and unix attributes). Chown returns no error, but
'ls -lia' shows that file ownership is unchanged. What am I doing wrong?

Help Slim Down Centos Install
Hello Everyone,
I was wondering does anyone know how I can slim down Centos install,
what I mean by slim down is whenever I install Centos with nothing but
xen. I have all type stuff that is not needed like bluetooth and etc.
This is a server, so I know that bluetooth is not need but I don't have
any other menus to remove software when install from cd. So what would
be the best way to slim

slim server for moh
Hello,
I have installed SlimServer for Windows on my desktop and Asterisk on a Red Hat Linux machine.
I am able to play mp3's for music on hold when mp3s are on the Linux server, and to play streaming mp3's with Windows Media Player and Winamp on Windows using the slim server.
I also have mpg123 on my Linux, apparently installed correctly, since it works for local moh.
I put the

Changing the appearance of the login box
I'm the founder and lead developer of the lightweight Linux distro Swift Linux. I'm currently in the process of switching from the old antiX Linux base to the new Linux Mint Debian Edition base.
The new Swift Linux will be using LightDM instead of SLiM. I've found that replacing LMDE's default GDM display manager with SLiM disables many functions (like audio). Restoring these

Why would I want Active Directory (rather, how to argue against it?)
I think I understand what Active Directory is all about. I understand
LDAP and I understand Kerberos. I can see how AD (well, Kerberos
actually) enables single-sign-on (I assume it deals in tickets with the
Windows clients as standard Kerberos clients do) and can make life easy in
a large network (which, IIRC was one of the design goals of Kerberos in
the first place).
But lets say I have a

[PATCH v8 00/18] Add support for FDMA DMA controller and slim core rproc found on STi chipsets
Hi Vinod, Bjorn, Patrice,
This patchset adds support for the Flexible Direct Memory Access (FDMA) core
found on STi chipsets from STMicroelectronics. The FDMA is a slim core CPU
with a dedicated firmware. It is a general purpose DMA controller supporting
16 independent channels and data can be moved from memory to memory or between
memory and paced latency critical real time targets.

CentOS on new Thinkpads
I've had success on "older" model Lenovos.....(T-410 / T-420 / T-430) but anything beyond those seems to have some issue or another. I was even able to swap the standard drive to an SD (250GB) on a T-430 and it's running g like a champ. A lot of the newer stuff is OK as long as you don't have any boutique drivers for video network or sound. YMMV. On Sep 29, 2016 9:18 PM, John

R build failure under gcc 4.9's link time optimization
R fails to build with visibility on and gcc 4.9's link time optimzation, because
of its practice of building part of it as archive first. Specifically
it builds some bundled libraries as archive first, the symbols of which
are then entirely invisible in gcc 4.9.
The Matrix package also does this awful practice, with CHOLMOD.a COLAMD.a AMD.a SuiteSparse_config.a .
One way of fixing R is:

Boxplot, space to axis
Hello,
I've crearted a boxplot with 84 boxes. So fat everything is as I expect, but there is quite some space between the 1st box and axis 2 and the last box and axis 4. Since 84 boxes get very slim anyway I'd like to discribute as much of the horizontal space over the x-axis.
Maybe I've forgotten about a graphics parameter?
Thanks for your help,
