dovecot-1.1.rc3 assertion failure in index-sync.c
We just came across a mailbox today that, when accessed via POP3 or IMAP, crashes Dovecot. It seems to be another index-related corruption issue (as removing "dovecot.index" for INBOX fixed it); Using POP3: dovecot: Apr 09 10:28:14 Warning: POP3(USERNAME): Maildir /mail/USERNAME/Maildir: UIDVALIDITY changed (1145576765 -> 1207677483) dovecot: Apr 09 10:28:14 Panic:

Dovecot 1.1 rc9 compilation warnings
I've tried compiling 1.1.rc9 on everything to hand and I get various compilation warnings (but the compilation finishes). I don't know whether any of them are worth tracking down? I'm guessing most of the differences depend on the default gcc options and a couple of them are probably specific to our setup. All were configured with ./configure --prefix=/opt/RDGdovect

Dovecot Migration so far
We've been doing our own beta testing of Dovecot 2.0-beta4 IMAP (both direct IMAP and webmail-fronted), and we've had nothing but glowing compliments from our beta users/victims. I've also been running a lone box with the latest mercurial build and that's been running just fine too. All mail data is on NFS, but I've put indexes on the local disk, which has worked just dandy so

Replication milestone 1
5 milestones planned currently. I'll start with the always-on multi-master replication, because that's the most difficult one to get working correctly and efficiently. So if during its implementation I find some design problems, less code needs to be fixed. Milestone 0 will hopefully be done within a month. This includes reading and replying to the rest of the mails on this list and

[PATCH] Pop3 order in courier migration script
Hi, I found a problem in the courier conversion script (courier-dovecot-migrate.pl). In some cases, it does not correctly preserve the order of POP3 UIDLs. Consider the following case, when courierpop3dsizelist contains: /2 9000 1327481629 AAA1:2,S 10000 21:1327481629 AAA2:2,S 10000 22:1327481629 AAA3:2,S 10000 23:1327481629 AAA4:2,S 10000 24:1327481629 AAA5:2,S 10000 25:1327481629 BBB11:2,S

2.0 migration weirdnesses: logs and hang
Hello, I'm testing out an upgrade to dovecot 2.0 from 1.2.11, and I've stumbled across two weirdnesses that I need help with. First, I'm only getting one log message: master: Info: Dovecot v2.0.0 starting up After that, while I can connect, log in, read mail, etc., no further log messages are created. I have log_path set to /dev/stderr, and no syslog_facility setting,

Samba and ufw (mmcg29440@frontier.com)
Rowland, Thank you for all your help, I agree that this is not a Samba issue. Given rhat it works without the firewall. It' either a ufw or Windows 8.1 issue. Louis, Applied the rules you suggested to ufw exactly as written. No change. Still cannot connect with firewall enabled. Same error mesage as before "Cannot mount location ...". ufw log set to medium and copied below.
