Tru64 Unix and SIA
I have recently written a (minimal) Tru64 Unix SIA password module for
Dovecot as part of testing a Dovecot installation.
Has anyone else written a Tru64 Unix SIA module?
Is anyone else interested in such a module?
If so, how might I/we go about getting this/such a module into the main
Dovecot source?
Thanks

Limiting number of IMAP connections per user
Hi,
Is there a way of limiting the number of IMAP connections (i.e.
processes) per user?
Despite asking users to set their email client settings to limit
themselves to 2 connections, some still have this set to 10 or more.
Cheers

Multiple instances and/or separate certificates per email address
Hi,
We have a mail server with multiple instances of Postfix each listening
on a different IP address to create a set of virtual mail servers. There
are various reasons why separate instances of Postfix seems to work best
to achieve this goal, but I wont divert into that discussion here.
I would like so match this with Dovecot. The listening side isn't a
problem as Dovecot can listen on

Having trouble getting Dovecot to read a ~/Maildir configuration
Hi folks
Setting up a new server, hence a few software packages have been upgraded /
changed. On my old server (only 2 years old) I was using Dovecot and
RoundCube (web mail app) and had a good experience so was keen to use these
again. The only major change is I have switched from sendmail to exim4
(which was installed by default on this Debian server). Exim4 appears to be
doing the right

dovecot on OSF/1 4.0
Hi,,
In src/lib/mountpoint.c:53 the following had to be commented out:
// point_r->type = p_strdup(pool, buf.f_fstypename);
because f_fstypename is undeclared on this OS.
Also the following errors occur with the DEC C compiler (which
compiles the other files just fine):
source='file-cache.c' object='file-cache.o' libtool=no DEPDIR=.deps
depmode=none

strange dial problem with polycom 501
I am having a strange problem with polycom 501 and dailing. I've read the
archives and no one there specifically mentions this problem, so I thought I'd
ask here.
The problem is that when the user picks up the receiver or pressed new call,
sometimes they will enter a number (for example 95072091234) and in the middle
of the number the cursor might jump back one digit. So the call above,

If this is an SMTP relay server, I'm surprised you bothered to install
an IMAP server at all. It would have been easier to simply alias
postmaster@ to another account on another machine where you do store
mailboxes. I.e. simply

Using metric scaling
I want to enter a symmetric matrix containing distances for use in the
cmdscale() metric scaling function. The matrix currently sits on a file in
lower triangular form looking like this:

2 BLENHEIM .510 .000
3 COLLINGWOOD .510 .109 .000
4 FOXTON .510 .141 .141 .000

chan_sip doesn't authenticate on INVITE from a Dial() command
Hi.
I'm trying to get Asterisk 13 to authenticate when it sends an INVITE, and for
some reason it's simply not doing it.
I've even resorted to reading the source code to try and work out what I'm
doing wrong...
In channels/chan_sip.c I find:
* SIP Dial string syntax:
* SIP/devicename
* or SIP/username at domain (SIP uri)
* or

Receptionist
Hi,
Quick question. With an old phone system a receptionist receiving a call
has 1 button to push to transfer calls to a specific extension, with
Asterisk, a receptionist would actually put the caller on hold, pick up
another line, call the extension, ask if the person is available, hang up
pick up the caller again and transfer. To me it's seems a long way to
simply do a receptionist

Summary functions to dataframe
I have written a few different summary functions. I want to calculate
the statistics by groups and I am having trouble getting the output as a
dataframe. I have attached one example with a small dataset that
calculates summary stats and percentiles, I have others that calculate
upper confidence limits etc. I would like the output to be converted to
a dataframe with one of the columns as the

NMBD Not Starting
I moved an entire RH 6.2 server from one CPU to a new one using a tape
backup/restore. Everything from the old server is working on the new server,
but when SysV starts up smb, the nmbd daemon (2.0.6) exits with an error:
create_subnets: No local interfaces!
eth0 has already started according to the logs and console. Any ideas?
Thanks.

I've made a bit of progress - I can now get it to authenticate, although it's
still not dialling on to the correct number.

Need help interpreting output from rcorrp.cens with Cox regression
Dear R-listers,
I am an MD and clinical epidemiologist developing a measure of comorbidity severity for patients with liver disease. Having developed my comorbidity score as the linear predictor from a Cox regression model I want to compare the discriminative ability of my comorbidity measure with the "old" comorbidity measure, Charlson's Comorbidity Index. I have nearly 10,000

Samba4 - global catalog (GC) cannot be contacted using Windows 7 RSAT
Hi Samba Team,
Have recently followed Samba guide and successfully migrate from PDC to AD
and from BDC to join AD forest.
Need some advice here as I encountered global catalog (GC) cannot be
contacted issue when using RSAT.
This message pops up when I click "member of" tab while viewing user
properties although it will display correctly after I acknowledged the

ols function in rms package
Hello,
I have a couple of questions about the ols function in Frank Harrell's rms
package.
Is there any way to specify variables by their column number in the data
frame rather than by the variable name?
For example,
library(rms)
x1 <- rnorm(100, 0, 1)
x2 <- rnorm(100, 0, 1)
x3 <- rnorm(100, 0, 1)
y <- x2 + x3 + rnorm(100, 0, 5)
d <- data.frame(x1, x2, x3, y)
rm(x1, x2, x3,

zfs questions wrt unused blocks
Gents,
We want to understand the mechanism of zfs a bit better.
Q: what is the design/algorithm of zfs in terms of reclaiming unused
blocks?
Q: what criteria is there for zfs to start reclaiming blocks
Issue at hand is an LDOM or zone running in a virtual
(thin-provisioned) disk on a NFS server and a zpool inside that vdisk.
This vdisk tends to grow in size even if the user writes and deletes

Setup for Go2call ? Or any SIP provider using phonejack or linejack g729 g723
Hi, does anyone have the setup for go2call ?
I have digium boards and quicknet linejacks and phonejacks.
The cards work fine in asterisk without the g729 or g723.1 for the
phonejack.
I will like to do SIP origination using the codec in the phonejack and
linejack g729 or g723 and send the calls to go2call.
Anyone has the setup for this ? Or similar setup to a SIP provider using
g729 or g723
