imap-login aborted login
Hi, I have been trying to set up Apache2, Postfix, Dovecot, openLDAP and squirrelmail on my Ubuntu Server 10.04 machine. The idea is to make use of the LDAP to authenticate users to login to squirrelmail to send/receive emails. I have been using the link - https://help.ubuntu.com/community/Postfix/DovecotLDAP, as a guide to get it all set up. I have checked the status for postfix and dovecot,

squirrelmail doesn't display share
Hello list, I have dovecot 2.0.11 installed on a client's server and Squirrelmail as the webmail client. I created the share below in dovecot.conf and it appears in Thunderbird and Outlook but not in Squirrelmail. What setting do I need to adjust in order for the share to appear in squirrelmail? Below are dumps of /etc/dovecot.conf and /etc/squirrelmail/local_config.conf # dovecot -n #

Using pgsql with 'cram-md5 auth' and 'hmac-md5 scheme'
Hello, I want to use PostgreSQL to store my Dovecot users. I setup a very basic configuration, following word for word this page http://wiki.dovecot.org/DovecotPostgresql and it works ... almost. In fact, it works if I use PLAIN password scheme in my database. However, I would like to store them encrypted. But, if I replace the password field for my user with {HMAC-MD5}-... (the password

Dovecot rejecting Vpopmail User 89
I'm working to get Dovecot 2.0.13 working along with qmail, Vpopmail and Squirrelmail on a Debian 6.0.2 system, Dovecot compiled, not from a package. Vpopmail has a widely known assigned user/group ID of 89 and is the owner of all the mail folders. Regardless of value of first_valid_uid (1, 89, other), Dovecot denies Squirrelmail connection, saying it can't allow access to UID 89.

How to open only these dovecot ports?
Hello, I have not clear, due to the new syntax, how to configure dovecot 1.0 to listen only for the following combinations of ports and services: no pop3, from whatever host accept imap connections only if coming from localhost (since I understand this is secure _and_ the only way to make squirrelmail talk to dovecot) listen on the internet only for imaps and pop3s connections, accept them

Looking for a good way to manage passwords for CRAM-MD5
I prefer not to use clear text passwords, even over an encrypted connection. With IMAP, the only such mechanism with widespread client support is CRAM-MD5 (please correct my if I'm wrong... I'd love to be corrected here...). On the dovecot 2 wiki, the only way I've found to implement CRAM-MD5 support, is to use a passwd-like file: http://wiki2.dovecot.org/HowTo/CRAM-MD5 I am

Squirrelmail + Dovecot + Maildir
I have been struggling with getting my Fedora 7 box set up to use dovecot with Squirrelmail and Maildir. It works correctly with the exception of writing outgoing mail to the right folder (.Sent) or drafts (.Drafts). If I send a mail with Mutt, it writes the mail to the right place, so it has to be squirrelmail config or dovecot config. I want to use .Sent for sent-mail (~user/Maildir/.Sent) and
