Daemonizing a camping server
I''m having no luck trying to daemonize mongrel running a camping server. When mongrel daemonizes, I get: /usr/lib/ruby/gems/1.8/gems/mongrel-1.0.1/lib/mongrel.rb:723:in `accept'': closed stream (IOError) from /usr/lib/ruby/gems/1.8/gems/mongrel-1.0.1/lib/mongrel/configurator.rb:293:in `join'' ... mongrel becoming unresponsive
Hello, I''m running mongrel behind apache via proxypass. Every now and then, a spammer tries to proxy traffic through apache, and for some reason, apache forwards the request to mongrel, even though it''s not a site being hosted by me. At times this seems to cause mongrel to become unresponsive, and all requests to the site then fail with a proxy error until mongrel is

Another mongrel_cluster prerelease 1.0.1.1
Hi all... Hopefully this is the last prelease. If people on non-linux systems could post back any problems with cluster::status, I''d appreciate it. Install with: gem install mongrel_cluster --source http://mongrel.rubyforge.org/releases/ Note: This is only an update to mongrel_cluster and not Mongrel or other gems. Details about what''s new (if you missed the first

Mongrel stops responding after period of inactivity
Hi I posted this to the Ruby on Rails Talk group but I thought I''d post it here too as it''s probably a more appropriate group. Hope this is ok. I''m running a 2-instance Mongrel cluster behind Apache 2.2.4 with Rails 1.2.3. If no requests are received by the application for several hours (this usually happens overnight) then Mongrel stops responding and no requests are

Dovecot not handling r/o mailboxes completely, and problem with ACL as a workaround
First of all, I think dovecot is really fantastic and I have thanks for all the hard work. I think it will be the best fit for my ~5000 users when I have it setup completely. We normally have approx 500 concurrent IMAP connections during the day. I am trying to convert from courier-imap to dovecot, but I have an issue with public namespace folders that are not writable by certain users.

About normality tests...
Hi all, I have two very large samples of data (10000+ data points) and would like to perform normality tests on it. I know that p < .05 means that a data set is considered as not normal with any of the two tests. I am also aware that large samples tend to lead more likely to normal results (Andy Field, 2005). I have a few questions to ensure that I am using them right. 1) The Shapiro-Wilk

7960 Won't Register Yet Multiple Attempts?
Hi List, I've got a 7960 that's behind NAT (nat_enabled: 1 and nat_received_processing: 1) and for whatever reason doesn't seem to register, or at least hold a registration. If both the phone and the router (netgear) are rebooted, the phone will register, take a few incoming/outgoing calls no problems, then a few hours later, it drops the registration and never re-registers. If the

[LLVMdev] BigBlock register allocator
Hi everyone, Quick summary: LLVM now has a new register allocator particularly suitable for compiling (very) large, machine-generated functions. Longer story: I've recently been using LLVM in an application that involves JITing fairly large functions that have no control flow - they're just flat sequences of instructions, anywhere from 100 to 10000+ in size. (The control flow is

vfs_fruit causes delay in listing directories for Windows clients
Listing directories with many files (10000+) from a Windows client is nociceably slower when vfs_fruit is enabled on the samba server compared to the same setup without vfs_fruit. On my setup it's roughly 2.5 times slower. To me it looks like this is caused by the getxattr call which is only present with vfs_fruit activated and introduces an additional delay of ~ 0.00033 s per listed

ggplot with geom_tile
Dear R-users, I am trying to make a plot with ggplot-geom_tile(), but cannot remove some unwanted (white) lines through my plot. PROBIT REGRESSION FOR GROUPED/CLUSTERED DATA
Hello all I have been working to fix this for weeks now, It should be simple to fix. Please help Let me explain what I am doing, I have a data set for 65 countries over a period of 9 years (2000-2008). Each country has on an average say 2000 interviews, so that the total set has roughly 65*9*2000 data points/observations (of course there are missing vales as well). Now let me explain how are the

GemPlugin or Mongrel::HttpHandler subclass
Hey all I am working with a technology standard (specific to the commercial print industry) by which each element within the workflow has bi- directional HTTP messaging. As each side needs a http server, I thought I could either: a) use a gem plugin to modify the behavior of mongrel b) subclass Mongrel::HttpHandler In short, its xml messaging between two points; each with a HTTP client

Mod_Throttle for Apache 2?
We have some custom software that is put out on our 6 clustered(balanced) webservers. Every 5 minutes that software checks into our server for a new version, if there is a new version it downloads it (20MB file). This happens about 2-3 times per month. Currently there are over 10000 clients that need to download the update. Up until this past week we were able to handle the load and this is

btrfs kernel threads producing high load and slow system down
Hello, I habe the problems described in here https://btrfs.wiki.kernel.org/index.php/Gotchas: Files with a lot of random writes can become heavily fragmented (10000+ extents) causing trashing on HDDs and excessive multi-second spikes of CPU load on systems with an SSD or large amount a RAM. On servers and workstations this affects databases and virtual machine images. The nodatacow mount option

Question about samba 4 member server of a pure Windows AD
Hi, What you're trying to do is mixing RID and rfc2307. This is not possible. I've the same kind of issue here (Samba 3 migrated DC with samba unix users created in the same range as regular unix users), but still use rfc2307 so I can renumber users one by one as follow : * Save old uid (1000-2000 range) * Give a new one (10000+ range) * Launch a command like (multiple -e are

vfs_fruit causes delay in listing directories for Windows clients
Hai, Can you tell the following that helps. OS ? Samba Version? ( pre-builded or source ) Kernel version? I think you need to wait for 4.9.4 if all patches ive seen on vfs_fruit are getting in. These might help. Go through bugzilla, you might find more about this here. Greetz, Louis > -----Oorspronkelijk bericht----- > Van: samba [mailto:samba-bounces at lists.samba.org]

Last item...
It would now be nice to figure out how to get Oddcast and Icecast2 to play nice on ports other than 8000/8001. I've tried other higher ports (10000+), but Winamp keeps timing out on connect attempts. Same settings (client and server), Winamp works flawlessly on 8000/8001. Ideas? Thanks. Scott
