Quota from passdb sql
Hello folks! Is it possible to retrieve quota information from a passdb sql lookup and using static userdb? I've tried here without success, and I can't find in the wiki or forum. Some ways I configured dovecot-sql.conf: 1) password_query = SELECT email AS user, CONCAT('maildir:storage=',quota) AS quota, password FROM users WHERE email = '%u' 2) password_query = SELECT

Can't connect to SMTP outside localhost
I have Dovecot setup with Postfix and can't seem to connect to to the SMTP server (port 25) unless I'm on the server itself (telnet localhost 25). For example, I cannot use my mail client, Thunderbird, to send mail from my laptop -- it cannot even connect to the server. I checked the logs and nothing shows up for the attempted connection. Dovecot version: 1.0.0 Postfix version: 2.3.6

sieve-body extension support for deliver LDA's sieve plugin
Hello, I just read your message about sieve and body-extension in Dovecot. Do you have news on that topic? I just have to filter mails containing a particular text fragment, and I cannot do without sieve body, I think.. Thank you for any clue you'd be able to give me ! Regards, Bruno --- Hi Timo & Co, Is there any time frame for updating the deliver LDA's sieve plugin code to

LDA without lookup as non-root?
Hello, I'm having some problems getting LDA to work without userdb lookups and have a few related questions. This system has all users in MySQL, each user with unique UID/GID, no local users at all.? Installation is from apt-get. 1) If LDA is invoked without lookups, is it correct to assume that the "service auth" and "service auth-worker" can be completely removed

Dovecot auth user lookup patch for maildrop
Hi, recently I started using maildrop as a MDA doing lightweight filtering in a Postfix/Dovecot mail server combo. Only thing missing was the fact that maildrop couldn't perform user lookups against a user database that was already being served by Dovecot (for smtp auth in Postfix and for imap access obviously) in order to easily determinate proper mailbox location and home directory of

dovecot-deliver auth-master error
Hi all, I'm trying to get the sieve plugin to work, but with little result. I'm following http://wiki.dovecot.org/LDA, http://wiki.dovecot.org/LDA/Postfix and http://wiki.dovecot.org/LDA/Sieve but it won't work. As I have virtual users from several virtual domains, I added the "virtual users - with lookup" section from http://wiki.dovecot.org/LDA, but now dovecot fails

deliver feature request (filter)
I'm using maildrop for delivery, because I want to filter through spamassassin before delivery. Maildrop makes that trivial. It seems deliver can pipe (one way) to a command, but what is needed is to pipe: deliver -> spamd -> deliver which is what the maildrop xfilter does.

Postfix+maildrop+deliver?
Hello, I currently use procmail without the deliver LDA but would like to switch to using deliver. I also would like to get away from procmail for various reasons. Otherwise I could use the procmail-patch from http://dovecot.org/pipermail/dovecot/2006-July/014656.html AFAICS. I don't want to use sieve because it's too limited and can't see a similar patch like the one for

Dovecot LDA / Deliver question
Problem described: I am trying to get Postfix + Dovecot + MySQL setup to work together in a virtual mail hosting platform. I am running Postfix 2.3.x, and MySQL 5.0.x. I am trying to use Dovecot's LDA for delivery to the users vmail home directory -- usually under /var/vmail/domain.com/j/jdoe for home and /var/vmail/domain.com/j/jdoe/.maildir for mail location, using MAILDIR format.

Questions about deliver log files
Hi, I upgraded from Courier to dovecot, and now I try to rebuild some of the features I used to have. One was a monthly per user log of maildrop's work. I used this code in maildroprc: DATE=`date +%m` logfile "$MAILDIR/maildrop-$DATE.log" This created a monthly log in the each user's Maildir. I find it easier to have a log per user than having to filter the log entries

Postfix - deliver problem.
I really could use some help. I have been using dovecot and qmail on Debian for years with no problems. I just replaced qmail with Postfix and have not been able to get messages to dovecot via deliver. Conditionally use a sieve script with deliver?
I found a post in this list [0], which says sieve scripts can be used to deliver mail as read. However, can it be done somehow conditionally, I mean, with a direct or indirect switch for deliver? For a nonexistent example, it would be simply < | deliver -m path/to/maildir -r > or maybe an environment variable could be exported to deliver sieve and checked there? (Still not sure if sieve

deliver exit codes?
Before switching to dovecot deliver for all local deliveries, I'm calling deliver from maildrop (yes, don't laugh). Snippet from my global /etc/maildroprc: # Store maillist & junk messages directly /^Precedence: ?list/ if ( $MATCH ) { exception { log "Bulk message: $MATCH" #to "$DEFAULT" to "|$DELIVER" } } I replaced to
