dovecot under attack
Hi,
I?ve posted this before but no one was able to help. I can?t figure out
what they are trying to do, and if I should be concerned.
I am running dovecot version 0.99.14 on Fedora Core 4. It appears that my
dovecot server is under attack. This morning in my system e-mail I saw
this:

What are they trying to do here?
Hi!
I?m new to the list, and I?m not really having a ?problem?, but I?m seeing
something in my log files that I wonder if I should be concerned.
I?ve been using Dovecot (dovecot-0.99.14-8.fc4) on my Fedora Core 4 (kernel
2.6.17-1.2142_FC4) machine from quite some time.
For the last few days, I?ve been seeing this in my daily ?Logwatch? e-mail:

readable dendrograms with many units
Using Mathematica, I've performed a hierarchical clustering
of 3,107 U. S. counties based on 1995-2000 intercounty
migration, using an algorithm of my own devising
(see http://arxiv.org/abs/0807.1550). I can also generate
the associated 3,107 x 3,107 matrix of ultrametric distances.
Unfortunately, as far as I have been able to
determine, the Mathematica hierarchical clustering

active directory pains
After googling a bit, it seems that only way samba playes with active
directory is with samba 3.x
I'f been use samba 2.x with 'pass through' authentication and would
like to get rid of the pass through auth cause it seems to cause
problems. Yet, I don't know if I can trust samba 3 --
Has anyone been able to get a samba 2.x server to join a an Active
Directory domain?

Basic Network Connections
Hi,
If I have these fragments in a domain definition, the guest will start with "eth0"
assigned by dhcp to an address on my lan. Things seem to work according to the documentation
I can find.

Error with dbcheck after upgrade to 4.10.2
Hi Louis and others,
While I cannot speak for the GP, I've had this same problem since I
recently (finally!) upgraded to Samba 4.8 (4.8.11). In fact, the very
reason I wanted to run dbcheck for was to confirm that Samba still works
correctly after upgrading (it does seem to replicate normally, anyway).[1]
I've configured Samba with the following switches:
--enable-debug --enable-selftest

Securing private file area
I''m building an application for a company that has thousands of clients, and
for each client there will a set of documents that are private to that
client. Rails makes it easy, of course, to show the list of documents on a
per-client basis, using acts_as_authenticated and using current_user as part
of the find any time a document list is displayed.
The part for which I''m looking

.INBOX required?
Hi,
Newbie to Dovecot and IMAP in general. The system in question is RH 9,
Dovecot 0.99.11, Maildir, accessing mail with SquirrelMail, Thunderbird,
Kmail, Mutt, Entourage and Mail.app.
I've set up the maildir for users in ~/Maildir. Inside that I have other
folders, .Sent, .Drafts, .Trash, .Junk, .MakeJunk, .MakeGood.
~/Maildir itself has the cur, new, and tmp folders, but I note that

PRI Partial Re-Rounting
Hello List
We are trying to redirect calls directly, instead of opening a new channel and dialing out.
Etc:
A calls B on our asterisk, and is directly redirected to C
We have been told that this feature should be available on a PRI level, and is called Partial re-routing.
Anybody has an idea of whether this is supported in Asterisk?
Kind Regards

What is so hard about Rails deployment?
Recently there has been a lot of fuss about the ease of Rails
deployment. People made various claims, such as "I''ve deployed PHP,
Java, (insert something else here) and Rails. Rails is by far the most
painful." and "Java deployment (with Tomcat) is easier."
I have no experience with Java deployment. But I have a friend who has
worked on several high-end software
