Help configuring dovecot for SSL
Hi: I'm running dovecot on a Fedora 3 box and would like to be able to make a TLS connection to it with my Pegasus Mail program running on my Winblows machine. Does anybody know if it is possible? If it is I could really use some help configuring my dovecot. I have tried for several days but I really don't know what I'm doing and need a direction to start. Thanks, -- Knute

DON'T DELETE THIS MESSAGE?
I have a new install of FC5 running dovecot 1.0.0 beta 2.7. I get my mail with POP3 but I have a user using IMAP. They both work great but I keep getting a message from dovecot in my mail saying DON'T DELETE THIS MESSAGE -- FOLDER INTERNAL DATA. I think it is there to help keep track of IMAP messages. Since I use POP3 is there any way not to have it show up all the time? I've

log contents questions?
I switched from using Pegasus and POP3 to Thunderbird and IMAP for my email. Now I get a lot of "Corrupted index cache file" errors in my log. Dovecot is running under Fedora 8 and is version 1.0.13-6.fc8. The Thunderbird is version 2.0.0.14 running under Windows XP. My wife's Blackberry is also using IMAP and not reporting any errors. Any ideas what the problem is or how to

Syncing two mail servers?
I currently have a mail server using Dovecot and sendmail. I was thinking I would like to have a backup of my mail and an additional server in case of hardware failure. Is it possible to run two identical or nearly identical server setups and sync the mail files between them? If it is possible, in general terms how would one go about this? Thanks, -- Knute Johnson

Syncing two mail servers?
For sure Knute. Take a look at this: http://wiki2.dovecot.org/Replication I think a good implementation would be using a dovecot director layer + dovecot replication. Converting from 1.12 to 2.0 questions about mail location?
I'm building a new server and using a newer version of ubuntu server that uses Dovecot 2.0. I thought I would like to use Maildir instead of the mbox that was used in the previous server. What do I have to do to convert my mbox mail to Maildir? Or should I just use mbox and copy it over :-)? Thanks, -- Knute Johnson

Migrating mail between servers
I've currently got dovecot running on a Fedora server and I want to move all my mail to my new server running ubuntu. Both use mbox and I have IMAP working in both. Can I just copy the ~user/mail directory and /var/mail/user file and replace them in the new server? Help! OT: Blackberry IMAP client suggestions/experience needed
The CFO of our college, a most formidable man, had decided to go Blackberry and Something Functional Must Be Done. We've had some users who we've not supported (and things got better for them when we switched from UWIMAP to Dovecot). BB, of course, has their half-baked sorta-IMAP-compliant client (and we do NOT want the BB Enterprise Server) that persistently keeps grabbing the
