I Have Multiple Ips But Can Only Telnet to One Interface. Not the subinterface. How to Fix?
Hi guys, I have multiple IPs bound to my Centos 6.6 box but I can only telnet to one IP. Any ideas on what to do? I've searched the internet so far with every keyword I can think of to no avail. I can see that postfix is only listening on the first IP and to localhost. The IP I cannot smtp to is on ETH0:1. I can access it via port 80 (web traffic) but the connection is refused if i try to

Help with failing Nut slave/client connection
Or just set up sane firewall rules to allow the two to talk, but block external traffic. I have run this way for years - all add'rs ar IANA in a subnet block, and just that block is open locally, and all other external IP's severely restricted, and NUT works great . . . - Tim On September 12, 2016 11:47:28 AM CDT, "Stuart D. Help with failing Nut slave/client connection
Tough to get a spoofed IP to actually route back to it's host though, so other than those unfortunate to be on a flat network, still not too much of an issue . . . - Tim On 09/12/2016 04:46 PM, Stuart D. I've got a server with several ip's on eth0. I want to block all traffic *except* to port 80 on them, but not on any other IPs, so that eth0 is www.xxx.yyy.zzz eth0:1 is www.xxx.yyy.ggg eth0:2 is www.xxx.yyy.hhh I've tried -A RH-Firewall-1-INPUT -p tcp -d www.xxx.yyy.ggg --dport ! 80 -j DROP -A RH-Firewall-1-INPUT -p tcp -d www.xxx.yyy.hhh --dport ! 80 -j DROP and restarted (and

Dovecot on CentOS 7
I guess I've been lucky. My Red Hat server I built in 2003 finally gave up the ghost yesterday. Fifteen years with almost zero problems running 7x24. Now I'm trying to build a basic server to host my e-mail using CentOS 7, Sendmail and Dovecot. Server is running great as are Sendmail and Dovecot but Dovecot only allows connections from the CentOS 127.0.0.1. I can telnet localhost pop3

I can do stat and retr commands. however, when I try to use the login method (that is what the command 1 login

Need help with Linux networking interfaces and NIC bonding
Hello everyone I am running into some strange issues when configuring networking interfaces on my physical server running Centos 7.5. Let me give you an overview of what's going on: We have a physical server, running CentOS 7.5. This server has one 4 port NIC and one 2 port NIC and a Dell IDRAC port. The first port of the 4 port NIC, em1, is used for Management traffic. The first port of

Hi trish, i have postfix configured to listen on that ip... it's still not listening. see below: # Note: you need to stop/start Postfix when this parameter changes. # #inet_interfaces = all #inet_interfaces = $myhostname #inet_interfaces = $myhostname, localhost inet_interfaces = 172.30.1.65 # Enable IPv4, and IPv6 if supported inet_protocols = all -- Mike McKoy *404.590.7176*

More about firewalling
Hi All, So before when I used PIX's for my employer, our traffic was statically routed to one IP and then the firewall decided if allowed/ denied and passed it on or dropped it. I have a Comcast business circuit with 13 IP's. The gateway device they provide is a 'pass through' device. They sent traffic for all 13 IP's my way. It just allows traffic through. So if I put

2-NIC DMZ?
Hi all, I have two static IPs from my ISP. I would like one of these IPs to be directed to my desktop box all the time, and the other to be directed to a DHCP-served NAT network. I''ve nearly gotten it working using iptables and iproute2, but one problem is that i would like packets coming from my desktop box via the firewall to be printed with my desktop''s external IP. They are

mount NFS share over specific nic?
I have a new server with multiple nics running Centos 6.2 and I'd like to force all NFS traffic over one nic. We're using FreeNAS to dish out NFS shares and I have different IPs on my 2 nics but how can I get the server to mount the share over one particular nic? Or is there a better way to do it? Thanx, Russell Smithies

Services not required?
I''m in the process of locking down as much of my systems here as possible as to available ports. I am down to only a handful but am not sure how much of a security risk they pose and was wondering if anyone here might be able to comment, or suggest secure versions to run: 21/FTP (WU-ftpd v2.4.2 BETA 14) 22/SSH (1.22) 23/TELNET (Netkit 0.09) 25/SMTP (Sendmail

Still Confused about Firewalling
Hi All, Sorry, I am still confused about implementing a firewall without having my ISP static route all of my traffic to my public IP's to a single public IP. So before when I have done this for work all traffic has been statically routed. Now I have a comcast modem and it is 'pass through' so traffic for all my 13 IP's is allowed and I have to decide what to do. So I

Sendmail - STARTTLS not appear on one client
Hi, I have Sendmail configured to use STARTTLS for authentication. On all internet connections and computers (that I have tested) works connection over encrypted SMTP flawlessly. Today I was setting up mail client on PC of my customer and standardily checked boxes, that I want to use SSL for POP3 and SMTP. Next I wanted to check configuration (by sending email from this mailbox to this mailbox)

Single NIC & Backup : Newbie
Hi, I am taking my first steps towards virtualization. I have 3 Gateway Servers; all on CentOS 5.3 (non-graphical mode) + Squid. We have 3 separate teams each of 5-7 users who use 1 ISP each via their own Gateway server. I am keen to use virtualization and consolidate all 3 servers on a single server. I plan to install ZEN on a Pentium Core2Duo with 2GB RAM & 1 nic. Then create 3 virtual
