asterisk telemarketer torture sound files
Hi, I have some annoying telemarketer calling me on a recurring basis, but I'd like to discourage them a bit and have some fun. I found this: http://www.voip-info.org/wiki/view/Asterisk+AEL+Telemarketer+Torture but the link to download the sound files is dead (wyoming.e-tools.com is NXDOMAIN). Anyone have a copy of these? -Adam

Fine grained access control
Hi, I''m building an application which is going to require quite fine grained access control. Deciding if a user is allowed to access an action will probably require checking quite number of different rules, so a simple role-based system won''t be flexible enough. The approach I think I will try first is, if it''s possible, to ignore permission issues inside the

More fine-grained connection limitations?
There is the mail_max_userip_connections setting, which helps for dealing with number of connections at any given time, but I'm looking for something that will help deal with users who configure their mail clients to connect too frequently. For example, I've seen users who configured their clients to check (IMAP) mail every 3 seconds. This is far too frequent and puts unnecessary load on

Per user based protocol access and pause after failed login?
Hello. Tried search, no luck, sorry, if this is already answered, but I'm still looking a solution using pam_auth how to define in dovecot which user can access which protocol, for example, default is: protocols = pop3 pop3s imap imaps I'd like to use something like this: exclude_using_pop = user1, user2, @group exclude_using_pops = user1, user2, @group exclude_using_imap = user1,

[PATCH] Drop fine-grained privileges on Illumos/Solaris
Hi, I'm not sure how interested anybody here is in this, but I've been working lately on getting rid of the horror that is SunSSH for some distros of Illumos (mostly SmartOS). One of the patches we're carrying around at the moment is one that simply drops fine-grained privileges in sshd, ssh-agent and sftp-server. Since the privilege dropping here is roughly equivalent to a more

[Fwd: [networking-discuss] code-review: fine-grained privileges for datalink administration]
Crossbow team, The following is of interest to the Crossbow project. Since a large chunk of these changes also exist in the Crossbow gate, the delivery of this wad will result in fewer lines of changes for Crossbow''s delivery. If someone on Crossbow could participate in this review, that would be a bonus (Eric Cheng made original changes in the Crossbow gate at some point last year).

storage of lm objects in a database
Hello, I'd like to use DBI to store lm objects in a database. I've to analyze many of linear models and I cannot store them in a single R-session (not enough memory). Also it'd be nice to have them persistent. Maybe it's possible to create a compact binary representation of the object (the kind of format created created by "save"), so that one doesn't need to write

Computing row differences in new columns
Hi I have the following columns with dates and results, sorted by subject and date. I'd like to compute the differences in dates and results for each patient, based on the previous row. Obviously the last entry for each subject should be a NA. Which would be the best way to accomplished that ? I guess questions like that have been already answered a thousand times, so I apologize for

IMAP access based on username & IP
Hello, I have all the users and passwords in separate files like in the configuration below. I want that a specific user (ex: joe at domain.con) to be able to read mails using imaps only from a specific IP. All the other users should be able to read email from any IP. How can I do that? Thank you Imap version: #dovecot --version 1.2.12 dovecot.conf: # 1.2.12: /etc/dovecot/dovecot.conf

Allowing non-SSL connections only for certain Password Databases
I'm trying to set up my system (using Dovecot 2.0.9) so that certain Password Databases are available over pop3 and imap and others are available over pop3s and imaps. In particular, I would like users to be able to connect without SSL to accounts set up in vpopmail, but to require SSL for system accounts. Is there a way to set "disable_plaintext_auth" to different values for

pop3 quick question
Hello list, I have found imap_allowed option in dovecot which do exactly what I need, for imap. Is there something similar for pop3 protocol? The main goal for it - is to enable pop3 access to specific users. Or maybe dovecot have some 'pop3=yes' or 'imap=no' args to userdb/passdb sections ? I know future dovecot 2.* versions will support rewriting for protocols, but this is

restrict map-login by geoip?
Is there a way to restrict my user logins from a set of IPs? For example, all my users are in the US so there shouldn't be any logins from other countries. Can I tell dovecot to restrict logins to a CIDR list of US IPs? Can someone point me to docs on how to set this up? I've searched but haven't found how to accomplish this. Thanks, -Terry Terry Barnum digital OutPost

gray background on jpegs using dev.print()
When I try writing the current device to a jpeg file I keep getting a gray background for the jpeg images using dev.print. I have tried using the option bg="white" and bg="#FFFFFF" but neither seem to have any effect. If instead of writing to a screen device I open a jpeg device I can get any background color I want. This works, but I prefer to write to the screen and then

reproducing Box-Muller numbers
There seems to be a minor problem with reproducing numbers from rnorm with Box-Muller. The pattern suggests it might have something to do with the value that gets dropped when an odd number of numbers is requested. (Details below.) Also, could "user-supplied" be added as an option for normal.kind in RNGkind. I'm sure the Box-Muller in R is better than my own attempt, but I would
