can ls files, but can't cat files
I have a server roark (fedora core 5 with samba 3.0.23a-1.fc4.1) with a home directory awilliam. I'm trying to mount it on my linux workstation (fedora core 5, samba 3.0.23a-1.fc5.1). On my workstation I do: mount -t cifs "//roark/awilliam" /mnt/roark-awilliam/ -o username=awilliam, password=xxxxxx and when I cd to /mnt/roark-awilliam, ls works, but if I cat a file I get the

smbpasswd database is corrupt!
I added myself into OpenLDAP and deleted my user account from /etc/passwd. Now samba complains in the log file: Jan 25 10:17:56 roark smbd[2767]: build_sam_account: smbpasswd database is corrupt! username awilliam with uid 511 is not in unix passwd database! however, I'm resolving my awilliam with nss_ldap, so I can ssh and su -l awilliam fine. so shouldn't samba be able to get

expire-tool skipping mailbox
Hello, I have dovecot set up with expire-tool to nuke Junk messages greater than 30 days old. On a server with many user accounts, it seems to work on most of them. However, on my user account, expire-tool skips my Junk folder entirely, despite it containing messages from January of this year. Here is the expire-tool --test output: Info: alex at scienceforums.net/Junk: timestamp 1284027481 (Thu

mailbox size limit
Hi guys, I was wondering... my Inbox is 1.3GB large, my mailbox size limit is 6GB (6442450941). Other users have 500+ MB in their Inbox. I have about 27GB of mail. I'm running dovecot 1.0.7 now under Fedora 7 with postfix. I have no trouble at all, everything is working perfect. I use ext3 as my file system, and I store mail in maildir format. Will I have any inode, file system, issues? Is

unable to run login scripts in [netlogon]
My Windows XP SP3 clients aren't loading their logged_in_username.bat from my netlogon share, and I can't figure out why. It looks like in the log file the Windows PCs are loading the script, its just not executing it on the windows PCs for some reason, but if I click start, run, and type in \\roark\netlogon\scripts\jholland.bat it runs fine. Running samba 3.0.31 and here's the

openldap - samba
I am having a problem getting users that were added in smbldap-useradd to be able to login. After I add them they are visible, but you can see I get this error - pdb_get_group_sid: Failed to find Unix account for test10 I believe that this has something to do with nss_ldap. because doing a getent passwd, it doesn't display any smb info. Any debugging info or help would be amazing, I'm

recent dovecot: assertion failed.
Hi, today I have built dovecot from cvs sources, and upgraded server from beta-7 to this newer version. Then i got problems with opening INBOX using thunderbird 1.5.0.2. Hi, I just installed dovecot 1.1.11 and am having some issues. Mail appears to be delivered to the Maildirs just fine, but when a client (Thunderbird) tries to retrieve them I get this: dovecot: IMAP(info at aedisit.com): maildir_file_do(/var/mail/ > aedisit.com/info/cur/1251566335.V14I27a91M380600.kim): Filename keeps > changing After turning on mail debug mode, I get this: Aug 29

1.1 beta 11 - no quota warnings
Having tried and failed to get 1.0.8 with quota-rewrite to send warnings, I removed the 1.0.8 and installed the latest 1.1 - however I still can't get the warnings! Can someone advise what might be wrong - it must be my configuration?? To compile 1.1 I used ./configure --with-deliver --with-mysql. I've chopped and changed my conf till I'm blue in the face. Upgrade 1.0->1.2 dbox mysql
Hi, I just upgraded to from dovecot v1.1.15 to v1.2.9 so I can use dovecot- sieve. Most everything seems to work but my webmail (roundcube) clients are not seeing their subscribed folders. Reading over the upgrade docs at http://wiki.dovecot.org/Upgrading/1.2 I'm wondering if I have the two settings below configured correctly. dovecot.conf: mail_location =

Warning about NFS but using local fs for INDEX
I am playing around with dovecot and want to use local filesystem for indexing. But whenever I open a new imap connection the following warning is shown: Apr 30 10:14:42 beira dovecot: Mailbox indexes in /app/home/gasi are in NFS mount. You must set mmap_disable=yes to avoid index corruptions. If you're sure this check was wrong, set nfs_check=no. /app/home is a NFS mounted filesystem, but
