Share authentication problem
Hi @ll ! I am trying to set up a samba fileserver in SuSe 42.3 as domain member in a debian based Samba4 AD. The join seems to be ok, as I can get /wbinfo -u/ and /-g/, and /getent group/ and /passwd/. I can also list all browsable shares with /smbclient -L \\SambaFS -Uusername/, but when i add -k, I get following errors : /SPNEGO(gse_krb5) creating NEG_TOKEN_INIT for cifs/Samba1 failed

Dovecot + SpamAssassin through dovecot-antispam
Hello, I am new to the list. /Waving at everyone/ I got a basic SpamAssassin working on a Debian setup (w/ debian-spamd user), running as a Postfix transport. I am currently trying to switch it to a dovecot plugin in order to make it interactively work with the email storage (react to mail classification, being able to train it from already received emails, aso.) My problem is now making it

Groups not recognized
I've got an issue with a fresh (and I mean really fresh) 3.0.5 + ldap server where doesn't seem to recognize unix group membership. The server was 2.2.8a last night and things were working. The unix side works flawlessly, in other words if I log in as myself I can get where I need to, but under samba I get nothing. Here's some supporting info: my group membership information:

Samba Permissions Problem
I need help understanding what is happening and trouble shooting. I have two servers running Samba 2.3.3, one as a Domain Controller one as a Member Server. Both are running Ubuntu 8.10. smbd, nmbd and winbindd using the tdb back end are running on both. I have two shares on the member server and as far as I can tell they are identical. [Projects] works as expected but [Windows] always asks

How to give AD users group permissions on a Samba share
I have a Linux file server that is an AD Domain Member. It shares the following (smb.conf): [public] path = /public store dos attributes = no hide dot files = yes readonly = no force group = ohprs create mask = 0660 directory mask = 2770 The "force group" lets all Windows users map this folder and create files and directories that all users can access and update. They are created

segv when Mailbox is in inconsistent state, please relogin.
-----BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE----- Hash: SHA1 Hello, for testing I have different filesystems on various block devices, which I mount on /mnt/mailcache as needed; however, the indexes and caches are located on /var/cache, hence, they get out of sync easily. No offense. Hoever, the web page (http://dovecot.org/bugreport.html) states that every signal 11 is a bug and will be fixed, so here it

question on "doveadm user" and pass/userdb
Hi, I'm about getting to know dovecot in details, I am about the command "doveadm user". The man page shows this example: userdb: jane uid : 8001 gid : 8001 home : /home/jane mail : sdbox:~/sdbox plugins : sieve quota_rule: *:storage=150M It seems to be nice, however I never got this only: ~# doveadm

Fwd: Samba semantics error?
Hello, I have this bug report that I have filed. Is there any specific reason why samba behaves this way, and doesn't use the unix semantics? Since this is even more restrictive than unix semantics, I'm more inclined to call it a bug until I know it's supposed to be this way. Any ideas? ----- Forwarded message from Mike Fedyk <mfedyk@matchmail.com> ----- From: Mike Fedyk

Mapping of Unix groups to Samba user permissions
I ran into a problem today which surprised me, and after two hours of reading and testing I am more confused than ever, so I feel the need for a sanity check. It would be good to have a clear and authoritative article about this somewhere; I thought it would be in either "Using Samba" or in the HOWTO, but I don't see it there. I am using Samba in several installations in homes and

'r' flag in ACL stomping on 'l' flag effect
We're using Dovecot 1.0.3, and I'm setting up some shared IMAP folders. The eventual goal is to do the standard "learn as spam" / "learn as ham" type of setup, with some cron jobs to do the message extractions. But there's one minor twist: the "learn as ham" folder will need to be write-only for users. (I'll either create a fake user with read

File Permissions and delivery
Hi I'm very new to Dovecot (been using Courier for 5 years), but I've been persuaded of the merits of Dovecot and since the server needs upgrading that seems like the perfect time/excuse. On a test server, I set up postfix and installed Dovecot (running 32-bit Debian Squeeze, installed from apt-get). I mirrored the mail store (Maildirs, for historical reasons located under
