parameters to deliver
Read this in the dovecot sieve wiki: "The envelope sender is taken from a Return-Path: header in the message. The envelope recipient is taken from -d option passed to deliver." Is "-d" still a valid deliver switch? When I configure postfix's main.cf like so... mailbox_command = /usr/local/libexec/dovecot/deliver -d -e ..it sqwaks with, "Jun 18 18:44:50

POP3 dictionary attacks
I'm seeing strings of failed POP3 login attempts with obvious bogus usernames coming from different IP addresses. Today's originated from 216.31.146.19 (which resolves to neovisionlabs.com). This looks like a botnet attack. I got a similar probe a couple days ago. Is anyone else seeing these? The attack involves trying about 20 different names, about 3-4 seconds apart. Here's a

OS X Mail Administration
I'd like to request some feed back from any OS X Mail Admins on the list, please. Currently running 10.4.9 here using postfix / dovecot and I'm about to take the plunge from mbox to maildir. I just migrated from uw-imap to dovecot. As you're aware, users inbox's are customarily stored in /var/mail/% username and personal folders under /Users/%username/Library/Mail/IMAP.

Starting using LaunchDaemons
I've figured this one out... Just wanted to get it into the dovecot mailing list archive so that somebody in the future might find it if they need it. Running Dovecot on Mac OS X 10.4.11 and using LaunchDaemon to start. Following a system crash, dovecot failed to restart with this in the system log... CONVERT Plugin
Timo, Running v1.0.0 The convert plugin works pretty damn good! No need to mess with external utilities. One comment, though: Running here on OS X, I configured it with this convert_mail line: convert_mail = mbox:~/Library/Mail/IMAP/:INBOX=/var/mail/%u and mail_location = maildir:~/Maildir The IMAP directory was renamed to IMAP-converted after the process but the inbox (in

Sieve Vacation Auto-Reply Exclusions
The Dovecot Wiki is quite clear regarding its vacation auto-reply mechanism http://wiki.dovecot.org/LDA/Sieve and under what circumstances the automatic replies will NOT be sent. However, is it possible to manually add a list of envelope senders that the script will not respond to? Thank you, B. Bodger

Hi All I just upgraded to v1.0.1 so that I could try out the new SMS feature. When I did this, I noticed that my outbound SIP call to Broadvoice was very choppy, so I hung up. The system would not release the call, so I restarted the server. When it came up, it started loading * then said threw up a segmentation fault in res_crypto.so.
