Even with gmake, this really works only by accident. Automake
generates a competing suffix rule, and gmake apparently gives the
rule above a higher priority than the suffix rule (or that just
happens to be the evaluation order).
Matt, since you seem to understand automake, can you come up with

windows tail development.log
Hi
unfortunately I have to develop on a windows machine from time to
time. But there is a little problem, mostly for debugging.
How can I get the same output on the console as in a linux box or on
the mac?
I don''t see the full output from the logger on the console.
How can I get the full output? SQL and so on
thank you veeery much!

Do people use HostbasedAuthentication?
Do people actually use HostbasedAuthentication? It needs several
steps to enable and generally seems quite arcane by now. I wonder
if this is something that could be trimmed away...

rc17 Linux RPM distribution rebuild trouble.
The question is addressed to Linux RPM-packagers.
Hello!
I was trying to rebuild rc17 binaries from
dovecot-1.0-1_38.rc17.at.src.rpm
taken at ATrpms <http://ATrpms.net/>. The process fails with following
messages:

Against 0.9 or CVS? While this clearly fixes a bug, 0.9 still dies
for me.

u2f seed
That sounds like the application param is still used as part of the process though? Would allowing the user to specify the application work in the Solokey case?
What is stored in the private keyfile? The documentation says no private key is stored there. So is it just information used to reseed the public/private key?
Thanks,
Kevin

modules/imap/lib02_imap_quota_plugin.so: undefined symbol: quota_set
Hi,
I wanted to enable FS quota support in dovecot, and have configured the
following directives:
protocol imap {
mail_plugins = imap_quota
}
plugin {
quota = fs
}
With this additional settings, my normally working dovecot.conf doesn't start
anymore:
Starting mail server:
dovecotEdlopen(/usr/lib/dovecot/modules/imap/lib02_imap_quota_plugin.so)

First Login (Thunderbird) Aborted in RC15?
Not sure if this is anything to worry about. Just upgraded to RC15 to
do some testing, and like always, I monitor the logs when I do this. I
restarted the server (basically a clean install, uninstalled RC2,
installed RC15, same config file), and then opened Thunderbird.

0.9 problems
Problems in FLAC 0.9:
- On alpha, flac immediately dumps core for both encoding and
decoding (FreeBSD/alpha).
- The distribution Makefile.in files haven't been generated with
"automake --include-deps". The resulting Makefiles aren't fully
portable; in particular they break with BSD make. In the future,
care should be taken to use "--include-deps".

Hello,
I'm attempting to migrate from an existing dovecot .99 install to dovecot
1.0.rc15 on a fresh up to date CentOs 5.1. I'm not sure what's causing this
permissions error on startup - I've tried 777,644, and 600 chmods but it's
always this same error:

ao: Sun audio plug-in
Here's the promised Sun audio system plug-in.
I have tested this on OpenBSD. It should work without changes on
NetBSD, too. Jeremy, could you please verify this?
After a few minor tweaks it now also compiles on Solaris 2.7.
Alas, I can't verify whether it actually plays anything there.
I guess this could also with little effort be made to work on
SunOS4.

problem in rc15 (proxy mode)
Hi,
I have test dovecot on one of my pop3/imap proxies (from rc10 to rc15).
I immediately get a lot of error messages like this one :
Nov 27 15:10:45 mproxy1 dovecot: pop3-login: file client.c: line 423 (client_unref): assertion failed: (client->destroyed)
Nov 27 15:10:45 mproxy1 dovecot: child 21677 (login) killed with signal 6
A lot means one every 2 or 3 seconds.
Any suggestion ?
