I need IMAP stress testing tool with SEARCH command
Hi.
Does anyone know of a good imap stress testing tool? And one which
supports SEARCH commands? I have to compare Courier and Dovecot. I
already did some tests using a modified postal/rabid package.
I would be thankfully for any hints.
Best regards.

Looking for RPM for 1.0.3 for CentOS with imap, ldap, and ssl
Hi,
I don't know how to compile Dovecot from src rpm;s - in fact I tried and
failed miserably. The only other src rpm I have ever built was postfix, and
I ran into a whole bunch of errors trying to build an rpm from the src rpm
at ATRpm.
Anywho, I was wondering if one of you wonderful Dovecot members would be
willing to create an RPM for CentOS 4.5 that includes ldap and ssl.
Or, if

NFS, test52, maildir, freebsd 4.x and OS X (Panther) Server
I've been working on setting up a Dovecot server with a maildir
mailboxes stored over NFS. Initially, everything was working great, and
then I started seeing this error as previously discussed on the list in
my maillog:
(mail_index_expunge): assertion failed: (!t->view->external)
Timo, in another thread, suggested to remove line 247 in
mail-index-transaction.c in the test52

Understanding fcntl() error messages
Hey guys,
After many trials and tribulations I have now got some
fairly stable NFS clients serving dovecot-lda and pop3/imap. Over a 9 hour
postal/rabid stress test only saw 5 errors for the 4 servers. Wondering if
anyone can shed a bit more light on what they mean exactly. I have tried to
find "Resource temporarily unavailable" and "No locks available" in the src
to get

proxy load-testing
I found the proxy performance page in the Wiki. It's interesting to see
such good performance for the proxy!
However, I was trying to duplicate the tests and am not clear how. Anyone
know what a typical test setup would look like? I need to document/test
that I can setup a proxy able to handle 100-200 sessions per second which
the folks around here are skeptical of.
I emailed Tomi directly

Really? Then I'll re-read them since there's been a second confirmation.
Just know that I wasn't trying to make it about good/bad.
I'm just trying to make the point that companies aren't just

Actually, the first distro with a GUI installer was Yggdrasil, circa 1993.
It installed on 8MB of RAM using X and Athena/FVWM.

[JOB] Web Application Developer
Hi all,
I work for Codeweavers.net <http://www.codeweavers.net/> - not to be
confused with the US CodeWeavers of CrossOver fame. We produce
enterprise software, mainly for the finance sector.
We are looking for a developer to take on a young project that I
started. I''m becoming the company''s senior network admin for the

Insufficient Disk Space
I'm looking at migrating a small Netware 3.12 server to a Linux box with
samba for a small office. They use a DOS program called `ACCPAC' to do
their accounting; both the program and it's data reside on different
exported volumes on the netware system. I set up a linux box (for
testing- deployment later, maybe) to make sure the program would run
with samba before going ahead and just

Tru64 SIA authentication: can it be called after kerberos?
Hi All.
There have recently (well, today :-) been changes to OpenSSH Portable's
auth-passwd.c from OpenBSD to accomodate forced changes of expired
passwords. (Rabid password expirers shoulon't get excited yet, it's
currently bsdauth only, but support for other platforms should start
trickling in shortly).
As part of that, some individual platforms have gained their own

/etc/hosts missing localhost?
Is there any reason why /etc/hosts would be missing the line,
127.0.0.1 localhost?
I just spent an hour trying to figure out why I could not connect
to postgresql using ``psql -h ...'', finally figuring out that
the /etc/hosts file was the problem.

Firewalling multiple FreeSwan connections
Hi all!
I have got a vpn connection set up using FreeSwan and shorewall.
Everything works fine but I want to add another subnet to the whole. This
means that 1 box will get two net-to-net connections.
I want to limit the services on one subnet however. Cuurently I have
defined a vpn zone for the current connection and allow all vpn<->loc
traffic.
How would I go about in tightening the

use of R in big companies (references) & R-support esp in Germany
Dear R users,
sorry for this general email and I am sure it has been asked
way too many times.
IT departements in big companies only want to support the big
standards. Whatever big standards means apart from being expensive.
We are in the process of trying to get a risk management project
for a big conservative company in Germany. As part of the project
we would use R to run simulations,

NFS rquota support
For v1.1, probably applies to v1.0 code pretty easily too:
http://hg.dovecot.org/dovecot/rev/078d9dde99c8
The other rquota patches had authunix_create_default() call. Is this
needed/useful?
The client is now always created+destroyed for each quota lookup. I'd
think it would be faster if it was created only once, but does it then
break something?
If the above isn't done, clnt_create()

Version reporting mis-match
After updating to Rails 1.2.1 using gem, I updated my project using
Rake. Next, I tried verifying the rails version in my app. If you
execute "Rails -v", it reports 1.2.1. But if you execute "ruby
script\about" it reports Rails 1.1.6, or if you previously used Edge
Rails, it report 1.2.0.
Does this look like part of the update didn''t take?
I created a fresh
