imap crashes on deleting an e-mail with no message-id.
Hi, I'm on RC21 on a Solaris 10 SPARC box. Somehow I managed to receive an e-mail with no message-id and when dovecot tries to delete the e-mail. Viewing the e-mail is not a problem though. I attached truss to the imap process and this was what I received: pollsys(0x000B7A88, 3, 0xFFBFF870, 0x00000000) = 0 pollsys(0x000B7A88, 3, 0xFFBFF870, 0x00000000) = 0 pollsys(0x000B7A88, 3,

mail-log: Same log entry when one deletes/undeletes an e-mail.
Hi Timo, I'm on RC24 with the mail-log plugin. It seems that when one deletes or undeletes a message, the log entries are the same: Deletion: dovecot: Feb 23 09:15:18 Info: IMAP(tansy): deleted: uid=4613, msgid=<E327C631261CD311BBAE00E081103C0901600871 at ritchie.dev.virpack.com> Undelete: dovecot: Feb 23 09:15:24 Info: IMAP(tansy): deleted: uid=4613,

Best way to migrate from Qpopper to Dovecot
Hi List, what do you think is the best way to migrate (to a new maschine) round about 30000 mboxes (Qpopper) with an amount of 43Gigs data, to maildir format (Dovecot). I think there are two ways: 1. - stop services (smtp and pop3) on the old maschine - copy the mboxes to the new maschine - run a conversion script (for excample: "Perfect_maildir" http://perfectmaildir.home-dn.net/)

Folder renaming oddities.
Hi Timo, We are observing some weird behaviour when we try to rename an inferior folder, followed by the superior folder. These folders have an asterisk in the name. * LIST (\HasChildren) "." Mails causing imap process to hang.
Hi Timo, We are getting e-mails from a certain domain that seem to cause the IMAP process to hang. Here's how it looks like if we issued a FETCH 40 FULL: * 40 FETCH (FLAGS (\Seen) INTERNALDATE "09-Aug-2007 11:50:44 +0800" RFC822.SIZE 803392 ENVELOPE ("Thu, 09 Aug 2007 11:09:09 +0800 (CST)" {64} 8???????x?C???W?[79?? !! dovecot.index.cache weirdness
Hi Timo, Just a quick check, may I know if the following output of idxview is normal? (see bottom of e-mail) I am running dovecot-1.0.3 on a Solaris 10 SPARC box. Deleting dovecot.index.cache does not seem to help for this user; it keeps getting regenerated with these same lines. I seems that I have to set mmap_disable=yes on this box to have a "clean-looking" dovecot.index.cache.

Client transaction logging in dovecot.
Hi, Seasons greetings! :) May I know if it's possible to log the commands issued by clients in dovecot? For instance, RETR and DELE commands in POP3 and their equivalent in IMAP? I can't seem to be able to find the appropriate configuration key. Thanking in advance. Cheers. Tan Shao Yi

mail_log plugin, log throttling and killing of the IMAP child.
Hi, Just a quick check, was wondering if anyone is experiencing problems mass deleting/purging mails from a folder? I am on RC19 with the mail_log plugin enabled. Quite often, when a mass deletion/purge is attempted, we receive the following message in the dovecot logs: dovecot: Feb 01 11:36:27 Error: IMAP(userid): Sending log messages too fast, throttling.. Sometimes this is accompanied

lstats on all files in Maildir when opening an e-mail.
Hi, I'm running RC19 on a Solaris 10 SPARC box. It seems that whenever I open an e-mail in any folder via IMAP, dovecot appears to scan every other folder in the Maildir. A truss reveals that it is lstat-ing every e-mail in every directory. I'm sorry I am sending only a fragment of the truss, it's really too long... but is this behaviour expected? Cheers, Tan Shao Yi

[LLVMdev] [RFC] Add compiler scheduling barriers
Hi all, I'm currently working on implementing ACLE extensions for ARM. There are some memory barrier intrinsics, i.e.__dsb and __isb that require the compiler not to reorder instructions around their corresponding built-in intrinsics(__builtin_arm_dsb, __builtin_arm_isb), including non-memory-access instructions.[1] This is currently not possible. It is sometimes useful to prevent the

Thus the rub: The exe seems to have disappeared from winbin as well. Dell OptiPlex GX620 can longer boot from CD with syslinux-5.X
Same CD. Any Linux distribution without the 5.X series boots on this machine. We can use 4.06 and it boots just fine. It's not the computer's hardware. Like I said, we can take the CD out of the GX620 and place it in the 9010 and it boots. Put 4.06 on the CD, and they both boot.
