Dovecots Deliver being to verbose
Hi,
I've got dovecot 1.0rc15 running on a Debian etch box toegether with deliver and exim4 backend by a mysql userdb.
Everythin is working fine, except that deliver is much to verbose. It prints lots of information, including the password, for every mail delivered to the syslog.
The problem here is that I don't wan't the password to be printed to a log somewhere.
How can I turn this

Listen on several (but not all) Interfaces
Hi,
I'm using Dovecot 1.0rc15 from Debian stable/etch.
I'd like to have Dovecot listen on more than one interface. It shall
listen on one IPv4 Interface and on one IPv6 Interface.
The comments in the sample configuration file say, that it's not
possible to listen on more than one interface at a time.
Sadly it's no option to me to listen on all interfaces.
So I'd like to ask

Some of my IMAP Folders vanished in some MUAs
Hi,
I'm using dovecot for some time now. Previously I was using Courier and I've
migrated this setup to dovecot which went pretty fine.
Now I'm experiencing some strange behaviour when using some newer mail
clients. Some of my Folders, like "spam", are vanished.
The strange point is that it only happens in some clients, like Thunderbird
2.x+ or KMail 3.5.x. In others,

I found this one.
Check which one works for you.

Im sure this is not a samba configuration problem.

Login not possible / machine account issues
Hi guys,
about a one or two weeks ago I've updated my samba to v4.1.7 which
might or might not relate to the problem at hand.
However lately we've seen some issues with users not able to login to
workstations (win 7). Windows servers (2008 r2 and newer) were also
affected.
Sometimes one or two reboots would solve this problems, on few
occasions I had to rejoin the computer account to the

AD, multiple DC, some DC without DNS at all
Hi all,
Thank you Mark for these precisions.
I did switch a DC to --dns-backend=NONE using samba-tool domain join. This
removed dns-<DCname> user for this DC and associated keytab.
We changed /etc/resolv.conf to use another DC - one with Bind running - as
nameserver.
Stopping there, running samba_dnsupdate gave error "NOTAUTH".
As we want our DC being able to push into DNS

Deliver-Problem
Hi,
I installed a Emailserver based on Debian Sarge, exim (4.50-8sarge2) and
dovecot (1.0.rc2-1bpo1). Delivering Mails with Exim to my Maildir works
fine. Because I want to filter my messages with Sieve, I tried to
deliver mails with deliver, but get the following error message (example
with a testmail and user "Debian-exim", not delivered via Exim):

Permission denied on GPT.ini (Event ID 1058)
I hate 'me too' replies - but I have also been struggling with this for
some years in my multi-DC environment. (yes, replicated sysvol via lsyncd +
rsync; permissions looked identical via getfacl last time I checked).
Sometimes a client machine will run gpupdate just fine; other times it will
fail, seemingly randomly.
My next step was going to be to run wireshark on a client machine to

choosing syslog facility?
Hello!
How can I log dovecots messages into a separate file?
Is it possible to set a custom syslog facility name somehow?
I can't set the log file in dovecot because dovecot does not automatically
rotate the logs like syslog does..
thank you!

Deliver same E-Mail in same Mailbox only once ?
Hi there,
I have a customer with domain a at tld and domain b at tld.
b.tld is an alias for a.tld
The Server is using virtual users based on mysql, dovecot for delivery and Maildir for Mail-Storage.
If someone writes an e-mail to a.tld with a cc: to b.tld the customer receives the E-Mail twice.
Is there a way to deliver the same Mail in the same Mailbox only once ?

Can not delete files via Samba in some cases
Hi List,
my problem is the following:
I use Samba 3.5 with AD password authentification and uid/gid information in local files. Everything seems to work so far, when i create files via samba the created files have correct user/group information on linux filesystem level (so i think id mapping works basicly).
The only thing that does not work is deleting files which
- belong to other users from
