Netbios Issue
Hello, I have been running Samba for many many years and have have not had this issue, so I hope someone can point me in the right direction. I am currently running in production Samba 4.7.7 on RHEL 7.9.? It has been running without issue until yesterday.? I am building a new server to replace the one currently running Samba, this time with RHEL 8.10 and Samba 4.21.0. On the RH8 machine I

centericq 4.21.0 on CentOS 4
Has anyone been able to install centericq 4.21.0 on CentOS 4? I've been unable to install the binary rpm from the centericq site. I've also been unable to correctly rebuild the source rpm on CentOS 4 as well. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated. Thanks, Barry

ldb version Arch Linux packaging question
Hi, since 4.21.0 ldb is included in the main samba tarball. In Arch Linux we do not support different package versions on split packages. Is it a problem, if ldb will be listed as 4.21.0 version? Thanks for your input. Best regards tpowa -- Tobias Powalowski Arch Linux Developer (tpowa) https://www.archlinux.org tpowa at archlinux.org Archboot Developer https://archboot.com St.

Strange problem with GPOs
I just reverted to Samba 4.19.8 and this issue is gone. It definitely started with version 4.20. > In sum, I cannot create new Group Policy Objects that apply to more than one > group, which is close to useless. This didn't happen before. I upgrade to > Samba 4.21.1 but the issue is still there.

Strange problem with GPOs
I was able to narrow down the issue. I can add groups to the GPO object at will. The issue only arises when the option "Apply group policy" is selected. I can even apply it to ONE group, but if I apply it to another one, the Group Policy Management app silently quits. At this point the Group Policy Object is corrupted and the only option is to delete it. I can edit everything in a Group

guest boot randomly fails to load sky2 kernel module? restart usually clears it up.
i''m running Xen Host & Guest, both version xen-4.1.2/64-bit. i pass through an ethernet NIC from host to guest. it uses the standard Marvell ''sky2'' kernel module. when i start the guest, usually -- but not always -- the NIC gets properly passed through and setup, and is completely usable. if i shutdown & restart the Guest, sometimes -- maybe 20% of the time?

Question about silos and Authentication policies
Talking to myself again ;-) Samba-tool is working a little bit different then the silo/policy management on a Windows-DC. On a Windows-DC after assigning the user and host to the silo you have to assign the silo to the user and the host. When assigning the user and host to the silo with samba-tool, the assignment to the user and the host will be done at the same time. So now my policy looks

Question about silos and Authentication policies
Thanks Rob for chiming in. Stefan, I do want to be very clear, one of the big challanges that we as developers face building these kind of tools is that we don't run AD domains day-to-day. So we really value good feedback on the ergonomics. If you can test with our work in progress, we are keen to adapt the tooling where possible to be more in line with what is 'naturally expected, so

Compressed archives randomly corrupted on a Linux share

It COULD be related, and I think we ended up downgrading the kernel to 4.9. https://bugzilla.kernel.org/show_bug.cgi?id=198349#c42 But I've since upgraded to OMV 6+ without any problems.
