multiple ports, different characteristics
The wiki <http://wiki.dovecot.org/Iptables> leads me to believe that the only way to configure dovecot to listen for the same protocol on multiple ports is via external redirection (iptables or similar). Is that so, or can dovecot be directly configured to listen on multiple ports? Here's a concrete example of what I'm trying to accomplish. Our environment uses plaintext

securing dovecot proxy connections
The wiki <http://wiki.dovecot.org/PasswordDatabase/ExtraFields/Proxy> page says this: "The connections created to the destination server can't be TLS/SSL encrypted.". Hrmm. Right now, with perdition, I'm forcing the use of STARTTLS on the internal connections. I'd just as soon get rid of perdition (to have one less moving part in my architecture), but I need the

proxy configuration
Before I spend some time experimenting with what might be impossible, maybe someone can just tell me (either "how" or that it's impossible). I'd like to get perdition out of my environment (mainly to have one less moving part in my architecture). I'm looking at dovecot's built-in proxying. In my setup, I don't have dedicated front-end machines. A user can connect

NULL for password and proxy fields
In the course of experimenting with getting dovecot proxying to work, I took a guess at two things. These work fine for me, but now I'm wondering if they are "as designed" or just a lucky accident that might stop working in the future. (I'm using dovecot 1.0.rc17, which is the included version in Ubuntu Feisty. (I am aware that some details change in v1.1, and I'm not

Quota bug in deliver?
Hi, I may be wrong, but I suspect a bug in dovecot deliver when using quotas. I've put some mails into a mailbox and then reduced the quota, to have the mailbox be over quota - here's the quota informaiton: [...] 2 getquotaroot INBOX * QUOTAROOT "INBOX" "" * QUOTA "" (STORAGE 880 5) 2 OK Getquotaroot completed. [...] When I have a setup with quotas only

maildirsize not correct
Thanks, but this is most probably different issue. My maildirsize is computed incorrectly even if I delete it completely and let dovead recompute it so expunging is not in the game. Is there any way how to track/debug the recomputation algorithm in dovecot? On Wed, Aug 24, 2016 at 12:02 AM, WJCarpenter <bill-dovecot at carpenter.org> wrote: > A long shot, but here's how I

JMAP support in Dovecot
Hi! We are working on including JMAP support to Dovecot. At this moment I cannot give any promise for exact version, but hopefully it will be part of v2.3 Aki Tuomi Dovecot Oy > On November 26, 2016 at 11:17 PM Andrew Jones <andrew at mykolab.com> wrote: > > > Hi Marcus > > Thanks for your helpful reply. > > Do you know what is going on with JMAP development

Dovecot's deliver trouble (...probably bug?)
Hello everybody! I am a Linux admin trying to move my mail system based on qmail to the software which is more spam-protected: exim4 + dovecot-1.0rc15 + pgsql . I've downloaded and rebuild dovecot from src.rpm (for fc4). During the testing stage I've discovered two troubles: 1) the problem with deliver (...I'm not sure it's a really bug). Here is relevant part of my

Hi Rainer Or maybe you are referring to the outer function. I'm a newbie in R, but I recently read something about it in the pdf book named below (pages 91-2). I send to you an excerpt: An introduction to R An introduction to R Longhow Lam 6.2.5 The outer function outer function The function outer performs an outer-product given two arrays (vectors). Deliver quota-warning via director
Hi there, I'm using NFS with Dovecot 2.0.20 and would like to deliver a quota warning to the user using the LMTP director. I have configured quota warnings according to http://wiki2.dovecot.org/Quota/Configuration But it seems that lda delivers the mail directly to the local filesystem and is not using our lmtp director, which prevents NFS mailboxes from getting corrupted. Is there a way to
