Consultant to fix nagios thread issue ?
Hello,
one of our customers asked for nagios on FreeBSD. We do use it
on freebsd 4, but not yet on freebsd 5.
According to
http://nagios.sourceforge.net/docs/2_0/whatsnew.html
there is still a problem with nagios because of some thread issues.

sample configurations for samba-3.0.0
Hi !
I'm currently testing out samba-3.0.0 - but I need a lot of time
to find out, how some features have to be configured.
To find out if your current samba-installation doesn't work because
of a configuration, a missing file or a bug in samba consumes sometimes
a lot of time.
I think it would be useful, if the samba-distribution would have
a certain directory for working

too much spam - filtering the mailinglist
Hi !
Today i deleted more then 60(!) spam-messages on this list
I think it would be a good idea, to limit the possible senders
of this list to the addresses which are subscribed.
Best regards

samba-3.0.0rc4 && acl-support
Hi !
I?m currently testing samba-3.0.0rc4 as a pdc with acl-support.
The box runs with debian-linux and a xfs-enabled 2.4.22-kernel.
I have defined a share which is located on a xfs-partition.
(changing acls with setfacl works well)
I activated the flag : nt acl support = yes
If I now try to change acls, i can open the win2k-acl-dialoge -
but changes are not accepted by a "permission

% in Usernames (dovecot 1.1.18)
Hi,
I'm forwarding feature request from one Fedora user:
<snip>
Shortly before suicide after migration to dbmail/postfix from Eudora Mailserver
because we use % in Usernames as fallback and Apple-Mail does no Plaintext-
Auth if CRAM-MD% was used before i installed dovecot as proxy
BUT it allows no % in Username
Please could be the following patch included?

Trim trailing whitespace from username
Recently we changed Postfix to use Dovecot for our SASL authentication
and we ran into trouble with some of our clients having extraneous
spaces at the end of their usernames. The quick fix was to add a space
to username_chars. The slightly longer fix was a pretty simple patch to
Dovecot. I put the trimming in auth_request_fix_username. I didn't think
it warranted a full strfuncs

Pop3 service stops responding
Hi!
I have problem with the pop3 service stops responding at random intervals
on my server. We started to notice this problem as we're running icinga to
check the imap & pop3 service.
When icinga reports that the service is down. We try to telnet to the
server on port 110 but it refuses the connection.
I've checked the netstat during this time and it's listens on port 110. My

Mails don't get deleted after POP3
Hi, there!
Well, I am new to dovecot, so please be patient with me:
I have a virtual server and want to setup simple mail delivery.
postfix, saslauthd and dovecot basically work fine.
The only open issue is, that (I guess) dovecot doesn't remove the
mail when it's retrieved via pop3 from the server.
It keeps sending me the same emails again and again.
(The mail client (Thunderbird) is

Several errors
Hi,
Running OS: CentOS 5.3 (2.6.18-128.2.1.el5)
1.
My Linux distribution comes with Dovecot 1.0.7. After trying to make it
running, I encoutnered many problems. So I decided to upgrade to 1.2.1.
When running dovecot -r from CLI, it returns with version 1.2.1.
But at the top of the log file it says: Info: Dovecot v1.0.7 starting up
So I am not sure which version I am running.

samba 3 active directory
Hello,
I'm posting this only in the event somebody else does a search in the
mlist archive for such keywords (I know I did), hope you won't mind.
Status: IT WORKS! :)
Steps taken:
Install Slackware (well, that was already in place).
Install PAM (Linux-PAM-0.77, plain ./configure) - this I will need later
for Postfix SMTP auth against AD.
Install Kerberos (krb5-1.2.8, ./configure

mail-trends+Dovecot
Hi,
Out of curiosity, has anyone managed to use mail-trends[0] to analyse their
e-mails.
I thought about trying it out, but got stuck midstream.
The mail-trends scripts work very well with gmail, but because they say it
is supposed to work with _any_ IMAP server, I thought I could get it
running with Dovecot too.
I know this is NOT a mail-trends support group though, but I believe there

Case study of new possibilities with PartialAuth and HostbasedAuth
Finally all the pieces are in place to allow strong user and host
authentication with SSH2 and the latest OpenSSH code (plus my partial auth
patch). Herein I describe one problem case, and a possible solution thereof.
Target: Allow user logins from host charles to host steve using passwords
Previously, you would have had to trust the IP headers to authenticate
charles. If charles had a

Domain variable in checkpassword
Hello everyone
I'm using the checkpassword method but I don't get the domain a user inputs.
I can't cross check per virtual domains if I'm not getting one, which means
it renders all my efforts useless.
I've tried sending %d as a variable to my checkpassword script, but I'm just
getting %d instead.
This is a dump of my information:

Messages not moved from Inbox by Apple Mail (Dovecot 1.0.10)
I just upgraded a server from Courier-IMAP to Dovecot, and I'm seeing
some odd behavior. It's probably the result of something I did wrong
in my configuration, and I'm hoping someone will let me know the easy
fix for it.
I have rules set up in Apple Mail to move and copy messages to
different folders, some of which are IMAP folders, others on my own
system. With

Linux kerberos to Windows AD 2000/2003
I have spent the last 4-5 hours scrounging google articles on this and
have found 2 solutions. The problem is one of them is something that we
will not do (as MS will not support extending AD with Services For
Unix(SFU)).
The other is simply configuring kerberos and pam on the linux system. No
problem there from what I can tell.

Use GPU in R with .Call
Hi All,
I am a newbie to GPU programming. I wonder if anyone can help me with
using GPU in .Call in R.
Basically, I want to write a function that calcuates the sum of two
double type vectors and implement this using GPU. My final goal is to make
such an implementation callable from R.
(a) First, I wrote a R-C interface handles the R object using .Call
