Thunderbird subscription bug ?
Hello Timo,
I'm having a hard time trying to understand why Thunderbird 3.0.3 doesn't allow
me to subscribe to a shared mailbox which I can subscribe to via Kmail for
instance.
I'm running dovecot-1.2.11/Maildir. The user 'doveimap' shares his mailbox
folder/subfolder to the 'dovepop' user which should see it in the '#shared'
shared namespace at the following

Aki, you were right.
It was at /usr/lib/dovecot

2.1.rc1 (056934abd2ef): virtual plugin mailbox search pattern
Hello Timo,
With dovecot 2.1.rc1 (056934abd2ef) there seems to be something wrong
with virtual plugin mailbox search patterns.
I'm using a virtual mailbox 'unread' with the following dovecot-virtual file
$ cat dovecot-virtual

unseen
For testing propose I created the following folders with each containing
one unread message
INBOX, INBOX/level1 and INBOX/level1/level2

Shared INBOX change in v2.1.6?
Previously Dovecot has shown shared INBOX like:
* LIST (\HasChildren) "/" "shared/tss2"
* LIST (\HasNoChildren) "/" "shared/tss2/INBOX"
* LIST (\HasNoChildren) "/" "shared/tss2/foo"
The last change in hg makes it return simply (same as with Cyrus):
* LIST (\HasChildren) "/" "shared/tss2"
* LIST (\HasNoChildren)

dovecot update from 2.1.16 to 2.2.36.4 but I have a trouble.
Hi,I have a troble and can not resolve it. Please help me.
I updated dovecot from 2.1.16 to 2.2.36.4.
As a result, I had a client who could not access via imap.
The client showed his logs (- folder not exists:INBOX )
I did not change dovecot config files.
So I searched a difference between 2.1.16 and 2.2.36.4,
I discovered . Please refer below results.

ACLs are applied recursively to sub mailboxes
Hi *,
The problem is most noticeable when a user shares his INBOX[0][1] with
others:
User A sets his INBOX acls to "eilprwtsd"
Now User B can see _all_ sub mailboxes and sub sub [...] mailboxes and
their contents of User A:
User A:
g getacl INBOX
* ACL "INBOX" "A at example.com" akxeilprwtscd "B at example.com" eilprwtsd "A at example.com"

Behavior difference in mbox versus Maildir listing
Hi,
My MUA (claws-mail) is having a hard time listing directories
for a mail account with two namespaces, one of which using mbox and the
other one using maildir to store mails.
Let's call the namespaces "#mbox." and "#maildir." and have "." as
separator.
Assume I have the following folder hierarchy:
$namespace
$namespace folder
$namespace folder folder1a

Assertion failed with imapc after upgrading Dovecot from 2.1.7 to 2.2.9
Hi !
I have an old Courier IMAP and in front of it, I have put a proxy cache
with Dovecot/imapc.
I use Debian Wheezy (stable) which package Dovecot in version 2.1.7.
I have tested the upgrade to Debian Jessie (testing) which package Dovecot
in version 2.2.9 but an assertion is thrown :
dovecot: imap(xxx): Panic: file imapc-list.c: line 499

'r' flag in ACL stomping on 'l' flag effect
We're using Dovecot 1.0.3, and I'm setting up some shared IMAP
folders. The eventual goal is to do the standard "learn as spam" /
"learn as ham" type of setup, with some cron jobs to do the message
extractions.
But there's one minor twist: the "learn as ham" folder will need to
be write-only for users. (I'll either create a fake user with read

Why does creating a mailbox create it in all namespaces?
When I create a mailbox using CREATE, it creates it in all namespaces? Is that supposed to happen?
Look:

a list "" *
* LIST (\HasNoChildren) "/" Other

LIST % not returning correct data?
Hi list,
I have
namespace private {
prefix = INBOX.
separator = .
inbox = yes
}
in an installation migrated from courier. I am testing with Outlook
Mobile 5 (OM) which uses 'LIST "" %' to get the folder list. Now
courier used to return
* LIST (\HasChildren) "." "INBOX"
whereas dovecot returns
* LIST (\HasNoChildren) "." "INBOX"
