Fwd: dovecot bug report (64 bit file offsets)
I have found similar problem: http://www.dovecot.org/list/dovecot/2007-January/018623.html "After configure remove HAVE_PREAD from config.h, recompile and see if it works." I think I figured out where might be the problem. If the binary is compiled in the 64bit environment and you want to use 64 bit file offset you must use 64 bit equivalents of the function. Of course if you are

Cannot share printer HP1012, using Ubuntu and Samba
Hello! I have a big problem - I cann't share the printer HP1012. I am using GNU Linux Ubuntu, I try to share the printer, using Samba (when I used RH9, then it was very easy to share the printer and I hadn't any problem with sharing (except PCL, but thats the other story)). So, can you tell me, whats the problem? I use cups. My /etc/smb.conf file: ########## Printing ########## # If you

JMAP support in Dovecot
Hi Marcus Thanks for your helpful reply. Do you know what is going on with JMAP development into Dovecot 2.5? It's difficult to get any sort of information from the roadmap and there are no Dovecot forums. One of the main reasons I'm interested in JMAP is because of Roundcube Next and also the other clients it will power. Sadly, there has been little going on and having emailed Thomas,

JMAP support in Dovecot
Hi Aki, Someone just asked in the bug for Thunderbird for this, so... Is there a git branch that they could use to start playing with what is there? If not, any idea when that might happen? It sounds like someone following the Thunderbird bug is interested in working on this, but they obviously need something to test against. Thanks, Charles On 11/27/2016 5:28 AM, Aki Tuomi <aki.tuomi at

JMAP support in Dovecot
Hello Aki, Well, it has been over 3 years since I last asked... You had said initial JMAP support would hopefully make it into 2.3. Since it didn't, I'm hoiping it isn't too far away. There is some movement with the new Thunderbird team on this, but they can't really start serious work on adding JMAP support until there is a server implementation to test against. Is JMAP

Dovecot - Postfix Calender Synchronisation
We tried installing Radicale months ago, and decided to postpone testing. Its footprint exceeds 140MB, because of python. It requires python, which is a security hazard on production servers. Security mitigations are absent: must use a virtual machine. Sent from ProtonMail Mobile On Thu, Aug 24, 2017 at 12:11 AM, Marcus Rueckert <darix at opensu.se> wrote: > Lookup radicale. --

1.2.6 Spurious pread()/stream errors/index corruption
Hi, We're currently testing 1.2.x with a move from 1.1.x in mind however with the current 1.2 series we are encountering some serious problems. simply editing the main conf and restarting dovecot gives these errors seemingly randomly: (some previous posts indicated this might be todo with 64bit file offsets so we've played around with disable-largefile and setting _FILE_OFFSET_BITS

JMAP support in Dovecot
Unfortunately we have not been able to work on this much, but also the JMAP spec was until very recently still being worked. We have open dialogue with the Thunderbird people, they haven't so far indicated any pressing need for JMAP in Dovecot. This said, JMAP is still very much in our roadmap. Perhaps just not as close as I initially thought. Aki On 21.5.2019 16.29, Tanstaafl via dovecot

Segfault when parsing configuration on x86_64
Hi, Using the exact same build of 1.0.beta3, one i386 and the other x86_64, I get segfaults upon startup with the x86_64 version when using the exact same dovecot.conf file. Here is the error : # dovecot -F Unexpected eof found when reading file 'UNOPENED' (Errcode: 0) Segmentation fault (core dumped) And the backtrace (I don't have symbols for all libs, sorry) : (gdb) bt #0

MySQL auth issues?
Hi, Since my last email about RHEL4 problems on x86_64, I've kept trying to figure out what the problem might be, and just ran into a reply to an old email I sent to the list, which I had missed. It suggests that the issue might be in the MySQL authentication that I'm using. Here is a more detailed log entry, with auto debugging on : Apr 3 13:13:02 s1 dovecot: auth(default): client in:

LocalCommand problem for tunneling on Linux
I've been testing tunneling on Linux with openssh-SNAP-20060116.tar.gz and found a problem. When I use LocalCommand for doing ifconfig stuff, the command line was executed before a tunneling interface is opened. This causes errors on Linux and the interface is not automatically set up. This is not a problem on *BSD because you can do ifconfig for unopened tun/tap interfaces. But in Linux,

I don't have seen an way to enable it only for 1 user like rawlog permits. Maybe,
