BUG: ssh hangs on full stdout-file-system
System: Linux 2.4.18, openssh-3.4p1 Problem: I use "ssh" and "tar" to backup remote directory trees to a local hard-disk/file-system: # ssh remote.server.org "tar -cz /home" >/backup/remote.tar.gz If the backup-file-system runs out of space before the backup completes, ssh starts hanging (waiting for the stdout-write to complete). [v 2.3.4.1][quota] recalculation
Hello, I can't find the information on the wiki :( When is the quota recalculated after a mail deletion ? For instance, I am running low of storage and I use Thunderbird to delete large mail. I only notice a recalculation when I quit Thunderbirdb and I relaunch it. Even, with doveadm CLI, as long as Thunderbird is not disconnected on the client side, the server didn't recalculate the

Maybe wrong quota recalculation behaviour on overquota delivery try
Hi all, we are experencing some, may be strange, slowness in our dovecot/postfix mail system. We have three dovecot 2.0.1 server with LMTP, POP3 and IMAP enabled. Three shared OCFS2 filesystem are used for mail storage. We have too a load balancer based on dovecot director in front of these three server. Our SMTP cluster receives mail and send by LMTP to load balancer. Everything work flowless,

user login on behalf of another user
Hello, we are searching for a possibility to configure a user login on behalf of another user with a PAM backend. This reminds to the behavior of a master user. But a master user can access the mailboxes of all users. We need this more restricted. Example: User "user1" and "user2" shall get access to the mailbox "info". We define the accounts

Vanishing maildirsize files with 1.0.7 using 'deliver' via postfix
Aloha, I've searched the list and have found no similar reports, so I'm asking here. We have 3 RH5.1 boxes running the stock Postfix 2.3.3, but due to issues with the stock Dovecot 1.0rc15, Redhat supplied us with the version of Dovecot 1.0.7 that will be in Redhat 5.2. The mail store is automounted per-user from a Sun box via NFS. We were using it with no problems until last Friday,

Sweave for "big" data analysis
Hi, Maybe I'm missing the point here...but let's suppose you are working with "large" data sets and using functions that take a significant amount of time to run in R. I woulnd't like to run these functions every time I call Sweave("myfile.Rnw") within R. What is the "common" practice to use Sweave in these situations. I would just run the function once,

convert-tool, exit code wrong?
Hello, I use convert-tool regularly for converting mbox based mail accounts to maildir based mail accounts. Today I tuned my convert script around convert-tool. I'm irritated about the exit codes. It seems, they should be inverted or am I wrong? $ /opt/dovecot-1.0.10/bin/convert-tool rogtest1 /home/mail01/rogtest1 mbox:/home/rogtest1/mail maildir:/home/mail01/rogtest1/Maildir 1 Error: Source

[v 2.3.4.1][quota] recalculation
Hi, Does thunderbird even delete the mail from storage if you delete it from UI? Most imap clients with default configuration just flag the mail \Deleted but do not actually expunge if from server. In Apple Mail.App that I use there is "Erase Deleted Items" to actually expunge mails previously flagged \Deleted. Sami > On 11 Feb 2020, at 11.18, Thomas Criscione <thomas at

removing loop in array recalculation
Hi, I'm looking for a more elegant (and faster) solution to my current problem than the code at the end. I'm sure there is one, but can't think where to look - any pointers would be very welcome. The problem is one of resampling within an array. This array consists of 0s, 1s and NAs. For each level of dimension z, I would like to rewrite the array such that it looks up the values in

dict quota and quota recalculation
Hi I am trying to migrate my courier server to dovecot and I've run into some problems. One of the motive that I chose to migrate is quota reporting mechanism which in courier is a pain (if you need to display an accurate quota usage in the control panel). So I follow the instructions on migrations , I convert all the mailboxes, and the next step was to populate the quota table (I use

Quota in mysql dict not properly recalculated on 1.2?
Good morning, I am trying to add quota storage on mysql following the guide in the wiki http://wiki.dovecot.org/Quota/Dict, and I am having some problems. My setup works fine for the newly created accounts, and correctly increases/decreases quota when necessary. The wrong part seems to be the recalculation. It seems to me that the system doesn't count the real occupation when it has to

force to recalculate quotadict
Hello, i use working quotasystem with sql-quotadict. The values stored in db are used to realize also a quotasystem in postfix to reject mails if they are bigger then remaining quota. if dataset in quotadict is missing for some reasons, postfix can't calculate quota and mail gets delivered even if user is already over quota. I am looking for a way to force dovecot/lda to recalculate users
