Crash of 1.0rc7
Hi, I pasted the logs in #dovecot already, but maybe someone here has a little bit more insight. I'm running dovecot cvs branch_1_0 from Sep. 16th. Dovecot is doing LDAP userdb/passdb and I'm using deliver for local deliveries. Today my users complained about not being able to login anymore. I opened ssh to that box and found the following messages Sep 20 15:58:03 vs02 dovecot:

outlook2007 shows frequent imap disconnect no matter what outlook-idle setting in dovecot.conf
Hello, I saw the problem quite often in various posts but could not find a real solution . Problem is that I frequently get annoying popups from outlook 2007 about imap idle timeouts which block working with outlook until the popup is acknowledged. The popup says: Your IMAP server closed the connection. This can occur if you leave the connection idle for too long. Protocol: IMAP Server:

logwatch reporting
I just launched a new mailserver that is using dovecot. My previous mailserver used courier-mail. I am expecting better things with this new server, but I was use to some login information in logwatch that I am not seeing now. For example I would get: [IMAPd] Logout stats: ==================== User | Logouts | Downloaded | Mbox Size

Dovecot + Logcheck Regex
I'm using logcheck for log reporting on Debian Etch, and am currently getting a lot of log entries from Syslog falling through the standard logcheck regex filters. I'm running Dovecot 1.0beta8. The filters follow: ^\w{3} [ :0-9]{11} [._[:alnum:]-]+ (imap|pop3)-login: Login: [.[:alnum:]@-]+ \[(::ffff:)?[:0-9a-f.]+\]$ ^\w{3} [ :0-9]{11} [._[:alnum:]-]+ (dovecot: )?(imap|pop3)-login:

Dovecot and Active Directory Authentication
First off, sorry if this has been asked before - I have looked, honest. Is it possible to get dovecot to authenticate users against active directory, treating the AD as a plain ldap server? I have this working with cyrus saslauthd. Currentlt I get a long delay (30 seconds or so) then * BYE Disconnected for inactivity. All I get in the maillog is imap-login: Disconnected: Inactivity

How to define ldap connection idle
I'm having a problem with dovecot ldap connection when ldap server is in another firewall zone, firewall kills the ldap connection after a determined period of inactivity, this is good from the firewall point of view but is bad for dovecot because it never knows the connections has been dropped, this creates longs timeouts in dovecot and finally it reconnects, meanwhile many users fails to

Dovecot hung or what?
Here is my first major problem with dovecot. I am running rc15 on FreeBSD 6.1. I run dovecot supervised by DJB's daemontools. I run only the pop3 service. A colleague informed me that pop3 service was simply not responding. They could not rcv mail. When I checked the server, tail-ing dovecot.log, here is what was scrolling: [wash at nbi ~]$ tail -f /var/log/dovecot.log dovecot: Nov 23

Change idle timeout
Hi, We are using a samba server as a NTLM authenticator for our web filter. However, Samba closes the SMB connections after 60 seconds of inactivity, causing connections from the web filter to the Samba DC to get stuck in CLOSE_WAIT state, and failing to authenticate the users. Is the some way, other than changing IDLE_CLOSED_TIMEOUT, or (in Samba 3.0.23) commenting the check that closes the TCP

Unsuccessful POP sessions on dovecot-1.0.3-13_60
A Client runs a RAS network. Users access mailboxes using Outlook Express. The server runs dovecot-1.0.3-13_60. Almost a week ago users began to report that they can't retrieve their mail. The session starts, they seem to retrieve messages, but then the client reports a problem and the session is terminated. Here's what I have in the log: May 28 08:56:46 server dovecot: pop3-login:
