Mail being delivered to mbox instead of Maildir
I thought I had Dovecot configured to use Maildir instead of mbox, but apparently it is still using mbox. [Sieve] Sendmail problem
Hi All, it's my first post in this list. I'm running dovecot 1.0.rc15 on my Debian Etch box. It's working very well but I faced a problem with Vacation using Sieve. :-( In fact, after well configuring the system I dont't receive the vacation message, and in the log I found: deliver(my at address.test): "2008-01-19 12:05:32 "Info: cmusieve: Using sieve path:

Dovecot on CentOS5 - (login) returned error 127
Running CentOS Linux 5 with sendmail-procmail putting email in /var/spool/mail. I'm running pop3 only with the servers configured to authenticate with ldap (which is configured and running OK). I do have this same configuration on an older FC6 box and it works fine. I'm thinking I just need to upgrade dovecot given all the nss_ldap problems it has had, but I hate not using RPM

Dovecot hung or what?
Here is my first major problem with dovecot. I am running rc15 on FreeBSD 6.1. I run dovecot supervised by DJB's daemontools. I run only the pop3 service. A colleague informed me that pop3 service was simply not responding. They could not rcv mail. When I checked the server, tail-ing dovecot.log, here is what was scrolling: [wash at nbi ~]$ tail -f /var/log/dovecot.log dovecot: Nov 23

Struggle with Postfix/Dovecot-auth and SASL
Hi List, I just updated an old sendmail installation to a modern postfix/dovecot system with mysql backend. Everything works fine but SMTP-AUTH fails with some clients. The problem is, that with PLAIN (old) clients send the base64 coded form: USERNAME\0USERNAME\0PASSWORD which, as i understand dovecot interprets as MASTERUSER\0USERNAME\PASSWORD. New clients send \0USERNAME\0PASSWORD which works

exim4 + dovecot + SquirrelMail virtualhosted on Debian
Hello, I have a Debian machine that is virtual-hosting 6 domains with exim4. I finally got exim4 working well enough where I can send and receive mail using the mail command on my machine. I would eventually like to have SquirrelMail (which requires IMAP) working on my website. For whatever reason, exim4 doesn't seem to support IMAP. I found out that Dovecot is a prominent IMAP server.

[PATCH] Deliver doesn't enforce userdb quotas
Hello all, While configuring the latest stable version of Dovecot (1.0.3), I've noticed that "deliver" always uses the quota arguments found in the configuration file, completely ignoring what userdb sends to it through the authentication service. This doesn't happen in the previous version I was used (1.0.rc15, comes with Debian "etch"). After digging a little into

RH9 to centos 5 386
I am testing the likelyhood of updating a couple RH9 systems to centos 5 386. I found at document that talked about updating to centos 4. steps being: 1.) backup 2.) rpm --import http://pubmirrors.reflected.net/centos/5/os/i386/RPM-GPG-KEY-centOS-5 rpm -Uvh --nodeps http://pubmirrors.reflected.net/centos/5/os/i386/CentOS/yum-3.0.5-1.el5.centos.5.noarch.rpm

Dovecot and "deliver" disagree on character encodings
Hi, I have a problem where Dovecot and its LDA seem to disagree on what character encoding should be used in Maildir names. I use Dovecot and Postfix on a Debian server. Mail is delivered by Dovecot LDA (called from .forward) and sorted according to a Sieve script into a number of Maildir folders in my home directory. Dovecot serves the mail over IMAP and I read it in Kmail. I originally

Asterisk RPMS for RH9 + RH7.3
Hello all, It's my birthday today, so as my present I would like everyone possible to download and test my updated set of RPMS for Asterisk 0.7.1. By popular request, I installed and built a set of RPMS for RedHat 9.0, and in the process fixed a bunch of issues from the initial build. I have also updated and will be maintaining a page on the Asterisk Wiki located at:

Dovecot LDA / Deliver question
Problem described: I am trying to get Postfix + Dovecot + MySQL setup to work together in a virtual mail hosting platform. I am running Postfix 2.3.x, and MySQL 5.0.x. I am trying to use Dovecot's LDA for delivery to the users vmail home directory -- usually under /var/vmail/domain.com/j/jdoe for home and /var/vmail/domain.com/j/jdoe/.maildir for mail location, using MAILDIR format.
