[LLVMdev] LLVM targeting HLLs
I am interested in using LLVM to translate C and C++ into high-level language code. (As an update to an earlier project of mine, Clue, which used the Sparse compiler library to do this: it targets Lua, Javascript, Perl 5, C, Java and Common Lisp, with a disturbing amount of success. See http://cluecc.sourceforge.net for details.) The obvious place to start on this is the C backend, except in

rotl: undocumented LLVM instruction?
Setting the ISD::ROTL to Expand doesn't work? (via SetOperation) You could also do a Custom hook if that's what you're looking for. rotl: undocumented LLVM instruction?
We've recently moved our project from LLVM 3.6 to LLVM 3.9. I noticed one of our code generation tests is breaking in 3.9. The test is: ; RUN: llc < %s -march=xstg | FileCheck %s define i64 @bclr64(i64 %a, i64 %b) nounwind readnone { entry: ; CHECK: bclr r1, r0, r1, 64 %sub = sub i64 %b, 1 %shl = shl i64 1, %sub %xor = xor i64 %shl, -1 %and = and i64 %a, %xor ret i64

rotl: undocumented LLVM instruction?
One option may be to prevent the formation of ROTL, if possible, and then generating rol by hand. Marking it as "expand" would likely stop the DAG combiner from creating it. Then you could "preprocess" the selection DAG before the instruction selection and do the pattern matching yourself. -Krzysztof On 11/3/2016 4:24 PM, Phil Tomson via llvm-dev wrote: > I could try

rotl: undocumented LLVM instruction?
Is there any way to get it to delay this optimization where it goes from this: Initial selection DAG: BB#0 'bclr64:entry' SelectionDAG has 14 nodes: t0: ch = EntryToken t2: i64,ch = CopyFromReg t0, Register:i64 %vreg0 t4: i64,ch = CopyFromReg t0, Register:i64 %vreg1 t6: i64 = sub t4, Constant:i64<1> t7: i64 = shl Constant:i64<1>, t6

printers.def
Hello ! I am sure this has been posted before but I can not find it. I have used a file to check witch files a .inf file shall use. This util was very good to have when making a printers.def file. My problem is that I can not find the file anymore and I do not know the name of it. Thanks, /Mikael

Tutorial for Queries
Hi! I''m looking for a good tutorial that explains the main points of performing queries with Rails. I do have AWDWR and have read the section on ''find'' but I''m looking for something that goes into more detail on how to perform queries across tables. Abstracted from my current application, this is an example: * person has_many sites * site has_one room *

Migration?
I just installed ruby, lighttpd, and mysql from darwinports on me laptop in lieu of the Apple version of ruby. Now when I fire up my rails application, it''s not running lighttpd anymore -- it''s running webrick. It also exits immediately. MySQL is running, the database and tables are restored from the backup. What step am I missing? Thanks for the help! Cheers, Hasan

Engines question
I would like to get at all models in a rails application to be able to add a field to every one of them as part of a migration. Something like the following: Appmodels.each { |x| add_column x.table_name.to_s, :foo, :text } I understand I can get the table name using ActiveRecord::Base#table_name, but how do I get all the models into an array that I can use in the above manner? -- Cheers, Hasan
