LDA randomly failing to write email to disk
We're using 2.2.13 with pigeonhole 0.4.3, in a clustered environment
(maildir on netapp, dual dovecot instances where each server is both a
proxy and a backend).
Every now and then (once a month per user, maybe?), users will see a blank
email in their inbox. Investigating further, and we will see that the only
information recorded in the maildir file for the message is the

forwarded message is broken in 2.2.10 with pigeonhole-0.4.2
Hi,
forwarding a message with sieve like
redirect:copy "me at other.domain";
was working without any problem until dovecot-2.1.17, dovecots lmtp and
dovecot-2.1-pigeonhole-0.3.5.
Using dovecot-2.2.10 , dovecots lmtp and dovecot-2.2-pigeonhole-0.4.2
the structure of a forwarded message is broken. Content of a message is

DNS caching is not working on CentOS
Hi All:
For whatever reason I can not get dns caching to work on any of my
centos boxes. Running Centos 5 and 6. Any thoughts on why these will
not run? The services start fine but when telling to perform a dig
using itself as the resolver the queries fail (See below).
Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks,
Ed

tty settings with rsync -e ssh interrupt
I'm following up on a bug reported back in May 2002:
https://bugzilla.redhat.com/bugzilla/show_bug.cgi?id=64689
this bug was also reported to the rsync mailing list:
http://www.mail-archive.com/rsync@lists.samba.org/mail5.html#04250
I couldn't find any discussion other than the reporters post
describing the problem.
Anyway, I just downloaded the new rsync-2.5.6 source, installed

last login time and host
Hi.
How can I write login name, timestamp and remote host address to MySQL
database every time user connects?
Now I run a daemon, which "tails" log file and parses output, but maybe
that can be done more simply ?

rsync fails with 2 sources
I have this failing every times I want to "update" the "destination".
I've tried through SSH (from my box -/home is a NFS mount point here- to
the backup one) or directly through "local transport" (because /home/ is
a local RAID-5 mount point on the backup box).

auth process(es)
Hello Timo,
I've got some questions about dovecot-auth processes which I cannot
answer just by reading the doc :
[ Note : my problem is that I often see
dovecot: pop3-login: Can't connect to auth server at default: Connection refused
and I'm looking for a way to tweak dovecot.conf parameters to allow more login <-> auth connections

- I'm not sure I get the auth

plot.hclust: strange behaviour with "manufactured"
This worked for me with your example:
source("dumpdata.R")
storage.mode(x.hc$merge) <- "integer"
plot(x.hc)
(R-1.4.1 compiled from source on WinNT4.)

plot.hclust: strange behaviour with "manufactured" hclust object
I've been trying to get plot.hclust to work with a hclust object I
created and have not had much success. It seems that there is some
"hidden" characteristic of a hclust object that I can't see. This is
most easily seen in the following example, where plot.hclust works on
one object, but when this object is "dumped" and then re-read,
plot.hclust no longer works. Is

Help needed to clarify hclust and cutree algorithms
Dear R Helpers,
I read carefully the documentation and all postings on the hclust and cutree functions, however some aspects of the tree ordering and cluster assignment performed by these functions remain unclear to me, so I would very much appreciate your help in making sure I get them right.
Here is an example, with values chosen to illustrate the problems.
I have a set of five profiles

hclust(stats) merge matrix interpretation
Hi,
We are trying to interpret the clusters generated by hclust method of R "stats"
package. The problem here is when i get the hc$order then there is some
order, while exporting to file that order is lost. Here is the example code
and their results:
> hc <- hclust(dist(USArrests), "ave")
> plot(hc)
> hc$label

Best Way to Import HC-X800 1080 60p/50p MTS to iMovie HD
Panasonic HC-X800 is expert HD camcorder with 3MOS system Pro, shooting
1080 60p/50p AVCHD footage at bitrates of up to 28Mbit/sec and
exhibiting outstanding HD images with minimum noise. The HC-X800 records
AVCHD MTS videos on P2 card.
You may want to edit AVCHD MTS videos you shoot with iMovie. The problem
is that iMovie often cannot import and recognize the 60p/50p footages,
nor can it accept

[PATCH]add usb-ver format check to avoid usb-list error and incorrect usb-ver saved into config file
Add usb-ver format check to "usb-hc-create".
In original file, "usb-hc-create" allows usb-ver parameter as "2/2.0/2.0aaa". In low level hc create, it only uses the integer part (that is "2"), so there is no problem. But 2/2.0/2.0aaa will be saved into VM config.
After that, while doing "usb-list", it cannot handle "2.0/2.0aaa" and will

Obscure bug....?
Dear all,
I've been struggling for days now with a piece of code that I have posted
here before, that has a really obscure bug. I think I may have isolated
it, but I have no idea what it is.... It might also be a bug in R I
guess, as it seems that one or several of list elements are not passed
when a function is called, but quite rarely.
I have been hacking rather wildly on the histogram

clustering problem
Hi,
I have a gene expression experiment with 20 samples and 25000 genes each.
I'd like to perform clustering on these. It turned out to become much faster
when I transform the underlying matrix with t(matrix). Unfortunately then
I'm not anymore able to use cutree to access individual clusters. In general
I do something like this:
hc <- hclust(dist(USArrests), "ave")

R ignoring quantile() in source()d file
Can anyone explain this behavior? Essentially, I've created a short file
to be read in via source() that gets some descriptive information on a
series of variables in a data frame. For each variable, I do three
things:
print('last.hc.actors')
quantile(last.hc.actors,probs=seq(0,1,0.1),na.rm=T)
stem(last.hc.actors)
where the variable name is (in this case) last.hc.actors. All that
