Upgrade from 0.99.x to 1.1.x
Hi! I want to upgrade a Dovecot installation from 0.99.14 to 1.1.15, so I had a look at the following wiki article: http://wiki.dovecot.org/Upgrading?action=show&redirect=UpgradingDovecot The article http://wiki.dovecot.org/Upgrading/1.0 says something about .customflags -> dovecot-keywords and .subscriptions -> subscriptions change/conversion:

dovecot and grsecurity (problem with resource limits)
Howdy folks ! I just added Dovecot as a standard package to Devil-Linux and ran into a problem with resource limits. Grsecurity (http://www.grsecurity.net) is used in DL to prevent problems with common exploits, it also reports violations of rlimits. The following messages show up in the log, but it seems that the IMAP Server works fine: Apr 26 19:20:04 src at gate imap-login: Login: hz

Mustek PowerMust 1000/1400/2000 USB (megatec, megatec_usb?)
Hi, a few days ago, I bought some of those Mustek UPSes that have both a serial and a USB connector. Currently only the serial port is supported by the megatec driver. This works fine so far. Now I have seen there is a megatec_usb driver, which currently only supports 2 other UPSes. How can I help to find out whether the PowerMust might actually work with the megatec_usb driver? -- Regards,

Dovecot will not run on secure kernel.
I am trying to run Dovecot on RH 7.3 with Linux kernel 2.4.20 + GrSecurity patch. I downloaded the RPM yesterday and installed it. When I start Dovecot the kernel reports: kernel: grsec: From 192.168.1.22: attempt to overstep process limit by (dovecot:14491) UID(0) EUID(0), parent (dovecot:23872) UID(0) EUID(0) I have never seen this problem in the 3 years I have used GrSecurity together with a

Dovecot as a (quota) policy server for Postfix
Hi guys, I'm currently experimenting with Postfix, Dovecot and OpenLDAP to setup a mail server hosting virtual users. The standard stuff works fine so far. The only thing that doesn't work as I'd like it to do is Quota. Currently, Dovecot handles/enforces quota through the deliver LDA. When Postfix tries to deliver a mail to a mailbox that is over quota, the deliver LDA bounces the

antispam for Dovecot 1.1
Hi Johannes. I wanted to try out the antispam plugin for a Dovecot 1.1 install, only to learn that 1.1 is actually not supported. Are there any plans to remedy this? If not, is it known how much effort is required? (i.e. could I do it myself?). Thanks, Anders.

Too many open files leads to timeout exceptions in Mechanize/Net::HTTP?
I''m experiencing an issue where my get/submit calls to the Mechanize agent are leading to timeout exceptions when the ruby script has too many open file descriptors ( > 1000). However, I''m not seeing anything about an overstep violation sent anywhere to syslog, and no error message sent to stdout. The process has the large amount of open files because it''s
