Segmentation fault in 3.63 on 16GB USB
Hi,
I bought a 16GB Transcend JetFlash V10 yesterday and am trying to
put the fc8 livecd on it (after filling it up with all sorts of
other junk :)
I've only plugged it into an fc8 machine (from unopened) - nothing else.
I also have a Toshiba U3 2GB USB.
The OS is fc8 fully updated except the kernel (2.6.23.15-137.fc8)
the livecd-iso-to-disk uses the command
"syslinux -d syslinux

command 'service smb status' returns many process IDs
Hello,
I have a Samba4 server running on Linux CentOS 6. Many users use this Samba service from their Windows PCs. After the Samba service is started (service smb stop ; service smb start), days later, just don't know when, running the command 'service smb status' would return many process IDs, like this:
smbd (pid 32557 32240 32204 32202 31880 31874 31788 31714 31707 31337 31107

fft question
Hi!
I am using the fft() function the base package to transform some 1d signal.
If I use this standar fucntion I get a very huge first fourier coeficient.
I think this dues to the handling of the borders of the signal.
Usually in fft especially in image processing the signal is simulated to be continuous by adding the signal several times periodically. My question is, is there some function

Dovecot index cache regeneration
Hi,
We've been using dovecot in the lab now for quite a while and really like
the results we're seeing. Underlying dovecot we're using maildir mailboxes.
We have the need to manually remove maildir files from time to time. That
is, by hand (we'll, actually by script) but not via imap or pop. Dues to
dovecot's index caching (which I might add, we love most of the time)

Wrong voicemail after transfer?
I'm using a modified "default config" file for extensions.conf, the one
that uses macro-stdexten to handle the stations.
We use a TDM30 card for our stations.
When a call that has been rung in using that macro transfers the call
things work just fine as far as the "other" instrument ringing.
But once the ring timeout has expired, the call then drops into the

pop3d and iptables lockup
I am having a problem implementing iptables with Courier's pop3
daemon. If I disable iptables, everything works fine. As soon as I
enable it, pop3 will stop working for messages over 32K. Small
messages will go through with no problems, but large ones will time
out.
I get this message from OE: "Your POP3 server has not responded in 60
seconds." And an option to stop or continue

Should I reboot prior to the clean?

Damaged tags in XMMS
Hi,
I just copied 15 GB of Music from my Slackware install over to my laptop
running CentOS. Everything's running fine, except a few minor quirks.
About 10 to 15% of the 4.000 songs in my collection seem to have broken
ID3 tags in XMMS. In the playlist window, there are only truncated
fields of a few random letters appearing.
But when I right-click on one of these songs, the ID3 info is

Hardware - no way -Re: Crashes maybe due to: "error writing 4 unbuffered bytes"
Dear JW,
I spent hours checking and upgrading my hardware. There is nothing wrong
with it. It is a 'mature' Pentium-II 400MHz system that has been running my
servers WITHOUT ANY CRASHES for nearly 2 years now 24/7
Listen to me: "The crashes are dues to rsync"
There is an IDENTICAL report from a totally different source at
