Thunderbird, subscriptions, and upgrade to 1.1.3
Hi, I've upgraded from 1.0.7 to 1.1.3. When I did this, my Thunderbird lost its brain and did not show some subscribed folders. squirrelmail also seemed to have issues. Applemail and mutt were fine. The configuration output is below. Hopefully this is just me and just random bizarreness. There wasn't a problem in 1.0.7 but I could have been caught in mid-upgrade. Thunderbird did not

subscriptions or .subscriptions?
I may have found a problem with the documentation concerning the subscriptions file. On the Dovecot web site there is a document that outlines the conversion from UW IMAP to Dovecot. The document says Dovecot's folder list is stored in ".subscriptions" However, I have found that Dovecot's folder list is really "subscriptions" without the preceding dot. Did

[LLVMdev] location of FormattedStream.h
Hi! just a minor thing: FormattedStream.h is in llvm/Support/FormattedStream.h and not in llvm/CodeGen/FormattedStream.h, therefore the comment at the beginning of the file has to be changed. -Jochen

Shared folder subscriptions
Hello! I have this shared folder: namespace public { separator = / prefix = Public/ location = maildir:/var/mail/public } It is accessible for all users in a specific group (mode 770, umask 0007). Users in that group should always be subscribed to all subfolders, so I did not use a different CONTROL for each user. All of our IMAP users were in that group, until now. I added a

Any sense of when V1.1.3 might appear?
It's been a month since 1.1.2....I'm about to do some V1.0 to V1.1 move work and I'd rather start on the curve instead of behind it.......... -- ==== Stewart Dean, Unix System Admin, Henderson Computer Resources Center of Bard College, Annandale-on-Hudson, New York 12504 sdean at bard.edu voice: 845-758-7475, fax: 845-758-7035

v1.1.1: Some files not created with dovecot-shared permissions
Hi, I use dovecot-shared to add read permissions to the group in my mail server, which uses virtual users. This is only to ease backups. However, a few files are not created with the permissions in dovecot-shared. I've seen this happen to 'subscriptions', 'maildirfolder' (when dovecot-shared exists; the change to correctly create maildirfolder in this case is very

mbox with sub-folders and messages?
Hi, Is it possible to have dovecot configured to use mbox format and yet have folders that contains sub-folders and messages? I'm thinking of a simple setup where any files directory with extension .sbd are presented to the IMAP client without the extension. So if you have a mbox file named BOX01 and a directory name BOX01.sdb would show has one on the client side (note: that is the way

Feature request: don't allow subscriptions to deleted mail boxes
Hello, Due to Thunderbird's mailbox deletion problem I was able to remove a mailbox while keeping the subscription. This was hugely annoying as Thunderbird is totally incapable of removing the subscription, even though the mailbox is long gone. It took me a while before I found a work around: I had to actually log in and remove a line from the .subscriptions file. You will probably get

dotlock errors without using dotlock
I have a few clients that have more than one user in the same mailbox. I have my setup using fctrl for mailbox and index locking. My mail is stored on a network file system (gluster) and my indexes are stored on the local drive. I have a few issues: - My users mailboxes have issues where messages will be mixed up (you go to open a message and it gets a different message) - messages will

Wiki relating to subscriptions
On this wiki page http://wiki.dovecot.org/Migration/UW appears this information: "It's possible to keep using the .mailboxlist}} filename (as long as it's in the same directory) by modifying {{{SUBSCRIPTION_FILE_NAME define in src/lib-storage/index/mbox/mbox-storage.h" However, if a user wanted to continue using .mailboxlist wouldn't they also have to change the

Any sense of whether or not we're close to a V1.1.4 release?
Am about to make a push to go from V1.0 to V1.1 and wondered. run a simple installation with PAM/passwd authent and mbox folders, no plugins. -- ==== Stewart Dean, Unix System Admin, Henderson Computer Resources Center of Bard College, Annandale-on-Hudson, New York 12504 sdean at bard.edu voice: 845-758-7475, fax: 845-758-7035

.mailboxlist -> .subscriptions
I've mostly finished a conversion from an old Centos 3 UW-Imap server to a new Centos 6 dovecot server. I did not copy the old ~/.mailboxlist file to ~/mail/.subscriptions file, but notice some users have the latter file now. These are all mbox folders on the old and new server. I'm getting ready to do the same to another old/new pair of servers and I'm wondering if there is an

Rename file opened for read-write -- cannot edit subscriptions
Howdy, Here is a problem with fix affecting dovecot-1.0.10 (and 1.1rc13). On a linux system's CIFS mounted filesystem, it is not possible to rename a file opened read-write: $ sleep 5 >> .subscriptions.lock & mv .subscriptions.lock .subscriptions mv: cannot move `.subscriptions.lock' to `.subscriptions': Text file busy This causes problems in editing subscriptions, as

Multiple dovecot versions side-by-side
I'm current maintainer of dovecot packages in ALTLinux distro and I plan to make possible to install multiple dovecot versions side-by-side (1.0, 1.1, 1.2) to make upgrade process easier and more robust. Is there any consequences of doing that? I worry about locking maildirs and mboxes, does dovecot handle it correctly if another dovecot process tries to work on same mail location?

Deliver autocreate with auto-subscribe?
Hello, I'm using dovecot with postfix configured for address extensions, so email to me+folder at mydomain.com <me%2Bfolder at mydomain.com>, automatically is handed off to dovecot deliver, which sees there is no folder called "folder" and autocreates it. This is brilliant, as it means I can give out subject orrientated email addresses, and the mail is automatically put in the

LSUB/SUBSCRIBE under namespaces
Hi folks. Here's our situation: Migrating from UW-IMAP. Have lots (as in, tens of thousands) of clients set up using '~/mail' as the IMAP root, and using subscriptions. Dovecot mail_location is using '~' for mbox storage. We've disabled full filesystem access in Dovecot in order to use ACLs for shared folders. Hence we have a hidden namespace for backwards

Permission issues with subscriptions
I am having some permission issues with my setup and I can't see where to make the change in the configuration files. My users can not create folders at all from their email clients nor from the web interface. I have noticed that each time I try to create a folder the subscriptions files permissions are set to 000. If I go back and reset the permissions to rw-r--r-- then everything is
