What's the problem on OS X? We test on it regularly (El Capitan and
High Sierra) and the only problem I'm aware of is that the native
libcrypto on High Sierra is

AFAIK MacOS no longer includes libcrypto or headers in the base operating
system, so you'll either need to compile them yourself or install them

Call for testing: OpenSSH 9.9
Hi,
OpenSSH 9.9p1 is almost ready for release, so we would appreciate testing
on as many platforms and systems as possible. This is a bugfix release.
Snapshot releases for portable OpenSSH are available from
http://www.mindrot.org/openssh_snap/
The OpenBSD version is available in CVS HEAD:
http://www.openbsd.org/anoncvs.html
Portable OpenSSH is also available via git using the

You can use --with-ssl-dir for this. --with-ssl-dir=/foo will have
configure try /foo/bin/openssl and /foo/apps/openssl. Otherwise it

Nothing has changed here for the last couple of releases.

Hi,
/bin/sh can be very different....
Ubuntu 22.04:

-rwxr-xr-x 1 root root 1,4M Jan 6 2022 /bin/bash
lrwxrwxrwx 1 root root 4 Mar 23 2022 /bin/sh -> dash
OpenIndiana (old OpenSolaris reincarnation)

This is why configure (with the patch) didn't use that openssl binary:

Tested on Cygwin 3.5.1.
I have a testsuite failure in the dynamic-forward testcase.
