how to specify point symbols in the key on a lattice dotplot
For me, Bert's suggestion produces a plot with two black symbols above the plotting region, a circle and a triangle, both filled, and no text. This, in which I specify several features of the symbols in the key, dd %>% dotplot( segment ~ transit_time, groups = impact, data = ., pch = 16:17, col = 1:2, cex = 1.8, scales =

Dotplot edition
Hi everyone, Im very new with R and I would like to change the size text (names) in the ylab in a dotplot. I have checked many webpages and R sites,  but I have not found any help. This is the same structure of the plot in R graph Gallery: http://addictedtor.free.fr/graphiques/RGraphGallery.php?graph=150 thanks in thanks is advance José Mi code is this: ### setup the key k <- simpleKey( c(

Dotplot: how to change size in the y lab ?
Hi everyone, I'm trying to reduce the font size in the Y  exe in this plot: http://addictedtor.free.fr/graphiques/RGraphGallery.php?graph=150 Anyone knows how to do it? I have checked the argument lab.cex and cex, but any of these works! if you want to check us this code: ### read the data d <- read.csv( file( "http://addictedtor.free.fr/graphiques/data/150/data.txt" ) )

change plotting symbol for groups in trellis graph
Hi, how can I change the plotting symbol for the groups in a trellis panel dotplot. My graph is similar to: library(trellis) dotplot(variety ~ yield | site, data = barley, groups = year, key = simpleKey(levels(barley$year), space = "right"), xlab = "Barley Yield (bushels/acre) ", aspect=0.5, layout = c(1,6), ylab=NULL) I'd like to

Dotplot (package Hmisc) with groups: colours and symbols
Hello all, This question concerns the function Dotplot from the Hmisc package. My aim is to compare values between groups in each panel of the Dotplot, with the values of different groups clearly distinguishable by different symbols. All lines and symbols should be coloured in black. Before adding the panel function to the Dotplot, the groups behaved as desired and were marked by different

help!!!
Dear R users, Would need some help. I will compare some results in a dotplot. The picture is very dark(grey) in the background, could I get it ligther? R-code dotplot(LINES~VAL, groups=QQ,key=simpleKey(levels(QQ1),space="top"),xlab="Values",main="Tail-Measure" ) (where LINES,VAL, QQ is vectors)

Lattice dotplot with symbols sized and colored
Apologies if this is a naive beginners question. I am trying to create a dotplot with the lattice dotplot function in which my dots are colored differently depending on if positive or negative and sized by sp.nc.bdrs.data$mwZ I have tried... dotplot(sporder ~ cvarorder | direct, data=sp.nc.bdrs.data, cex=abs(sp.nc.bdrs.data$mwZ * 0.05), xlab="climate variables",

[lattice] lines for stripplot (like dotplot) or jitter for dotplot?
I'd like to use stripplot for some plots because I want to use the jitter parameter. On the other hand, I'd like to use dotplot because I'd like to have the horizontal lines that it includes. dotplot doesn't have a jitter option and I'm not having any success with getting panel.grid(h=-1) with stripplot. Can anyone show me how to make dotplot-like lines on a stripplot? Or

dotplot/Dotplot: connecting points within factor level across time
For each level of the factor in dotplot, I have time points I'd like to connect with a line. In the example below, 'x' represents a starting time and 'd' a duration, and I wish to connect 'x' to 'x+d'. Ordinarily I would use Dotplot from hmisc for this, but I have not been able to find a time class that Dotplot will allow. I can get lattice dotplot to put

Dotplot: y-labels from rownames
How can I use row.names() as y-labels in Dotplot? How to set horizontal orientation for y-lables in lattice()? Dotplot(stcod1 ~ Cbind(statgh2,statgh2-1.96*segh2,statgh2+1.96*segh2)[og], subset=statgh2[og]>0.1, data=h2inqerrg02st, xlab="G", ylab=row.names(h2inqerrg02st)[og], main="") I have tried doing it with mtext() as well, but there is not enough space besides

Can R make an usual dotplot
Dear R experts, Can R make an usual dotplot just like Minitab and other softwares? I have the following data, and can use dotchart to graph a dotplot: y=c(2.873438152e-01, -8.732895642e-01, 4.579001889e-01, 1.047395204e+00, 8.491182299e-02 , -1.938007105e+00, -1.273708343e+00, 9.848010588e-05, 7.238490734e-01, -1.490552717e+00) dotchart(y, xlab="10 observations from

dotplot points color

I tried in many ways but unsuccessfully Thanks in advance Gianandrea require(lattice) dotplot(variety ~ yield | site, data = barley, groups = year, pch=21) dotplot(variety ~ yield | site, data = barley, groups = year, pch=21, bg=c("2","3")) ??!!! -- View this message in context:

dotplot: character size of labels

Abline in dotplot
Hello, I have trouble adding an abline to a dotplot() from "lattice" package. For example, I would like to draw a line at x=3: > library(lattice) > x<-1:5 > names(x) <- c("a", "b", "c", "d", "e") > dotplot(sample(x)) > panel.abline(v=3) Produces a line on the left hand side of the origin. dotplot (lattice) with panel.segments and groups
Hi, The following produces almost exactly what I needed. The problems are that the 'panel.dotplot' call (commented) generates the error 'Error in NextMethod("[") : argument "subscripts" is missing, with no default'. The other problem is that the colors alternate between the levels of the 'site' variable, rather than 'year'. barley$yield2

dotplot, dropping unused levels of 'y'
In dotplot, what's the best way to suppress the unused levels of 'y' on a per-panel basis? This is useful for the case that 'y' is a factor taking perhaps thousands of levels, but for a given panel, only a handfull of these levels ever present. Thanks, Ben

color of error bars in Dotplot (Hmisc)
Hello! In a grouped Dotplot, is there any way to set the color of error bars to be the same as the corresponding symbols? Example data: require(lattice) require(Hmisc) data(barley) Dotplot(variety~Cbind(yield, yield+2, yield-2)|year, groups=site, data=barley) I experimented with changing trellis settings of plot.line (as mentioned in the Hmisc documentation) as well as col.line settings in
