If I had know, I would have asked for the output of 'samba-tool testparm'. However, I can work with what you have provided. >

Samba Kerberos Logs
Hi team, Is there a way to grab Kerberos specific log entries? Example: /Auth: [Kerberos KDC,ENC-TS Pre-authentication] user.../ I have tried using the kerberos class but nothing was logged when I specified a path. This is what I have on my smb.conf. /[global] ??????? log level = 1 kerberos:2@/var/log/samba/kerberos.log auth_audit:3@/var/log/samba/audit.log

Advice on Folder Redirection for users that work remotely
Hi team, Would someone be able to advise us on how to handle 'Folder Redirection' for users that work remotely? We?ve noticed that user profiles often don?t load until users connect to the VPN tunnel. How do you handle issues where user profiles fail to load before the user authenticates to the domain controller? While trying to minimise any input from the end-users. We are seeking

Samba Logs
Hi team, Hope that someone can guide me in the right direction. This is on Samba 4.18.6; Ubuntu 23.10 I have put max log size: 512002 under smb.conf for testing. However, this doesn't apply to log.samba. The logs for that are all capped at 5 mb before rotation happens. This is what I have on my smb.conf. [global] ??????? log level = 1 kerberos:2@/var/log/samba/kerberos.log

zaphfc and ASUSCOM working in the US
I finally got my ASUSCOM (Cologne chip) ISDNLink card working here in the US. When a call arrives, I get "Unknown IE 42 (Unknown Information Element)" and "Unknown IE 21 (Unknown Information Element)". IE 21 (0x15) is defined as Q931_CALL_STATE_SUSPEND_REQUEST. IE 42 (0x2a) is not defined in the code and I couldn't google it. Is this something perculiar with ISDN in

Random permission denied and path not found errors
I have upgraded one of the servers to 4.20 from MJT's repository, however it's not the main one and has way lower traffic load. I have also removed the entries that you suggested. Besides this changes I started wondering two other workarounds. 1. Is it possible to add and authenticate a local user when the samba server is an AD member? I would add a local user and render machines

Doveadm protocol; dovecot v2.2.10
Hi there, Just wondering what is considered current best practice for managing dovecot? The options I see are: Doveadm binary Doveadm protocol via socket Doveadm http protocol I?m currently on v2.2.10 and it appears the doveadm protocol command set is limited to just the ?mailbox? commands and the http protocol hasn?t been implemented. Is the doveadm http protocol still experimental in v2.3.2?

1276 Bytes returned by opus_encode
Hi all, i try to set up something like a mixer and soundbridge. There are several sender clients which sends opus encoded audiostreams. One basestation is decoding the streams and mixing them all together. After that, the resulting stream is encoded with opus again and send to one or two receiving clients. Opus is set up to encode 10ms packets in stereo with 16bit per sample and 44kHz. So,

DECT gateways
Heya list, I need some advice/experience. Some of our customers are asking us about DECT solutions for their asterisk install. Some others will not go to asterisk if there won't be a DECT solution. They now have a Siemens or a Samsung PBX. Those PBX-es come with a DECT basestation and optionally repeaters etc. All those basestations speak some own protocol to the PBX, so we cannot use them

Use DECT GAP handsets with Snom M3 base?
Anyone have practical experience using inexpensive GAP-compliant DECT handsets with the Snom M3 basestation? When I asked Snom support, the answer was that 'basic functionality should work', but they didn't elaborate. I'm _guessing_ that means registering/unregistering with the base, making calls, and receiving calls (including presenting caller ID). They also stated that they

We have a perculiar problem and wonder if anyone can shed some light or advice ? We have a variety of machines running SCO Unix 3 .2v4.2 with samba 1.9.16, we also have an NT 4.0 server, these are all sharing up various sections of their drives. There is a Red Hat Linux running using smbmount to mount all these drives onto a directory tree, the root of this tree is shared up using samba so raher
