First Gluster Volume deploy: recommended configuration and suggestions?
Dear users, I just started my first Gluster test volume using 3 servers (each server contains 12 hdd). I would like to create a "distributed disperse volume? but I?m a little bit confused about the right configuration schema that I should use. Should I use JBOD disks? How many bricks to be defined? Ideal redundancy value? Ideal disperse-data count value? 6x(4+2) or 3x(8+4) volume

should_receive(:foo).with(any_object)
Hey, I just ran into a situation where I would like to expect a method call with an argument I know and another one, which is a random number. I think mocking up the rand method is somehow ugly so I thought maybe this is the first time where I can take something from Java to Ruby ;) Java''s EasyMock mocking library knows things like "anyObject()" and "anyInteger()" in

Problem Using the %in% command
Hello all! I have the following problem with the %in% command: 1) I have a data frame that consists of functions (rows) and genes (columns). The whole has been loaded with the "read.delim" command because of gene-duplications between the different rows. 2) Now, there is another data frame that contains all the genes (only the genes and without duplicates) from all the functions of

lfs --obd discrepancy to lctl dl (1.8.3)
Hello, lfs prints different obd(idx) compared to lctl dl. How to force winbind (3.4.1) to talk to a certain AD-server?
Hello, how can I force winbind to talk to a certain AD-controller? I run version 3.4.1 and winbind is joined to the Win2k3/2k8 domain, with security = ADS. It seems as if winbind always sticks to the last successfully contacted server. That server has bad performance and I want winbind to use another server for NTLM-authentication. It seems to ignore the "password server" setting.

Problems with Vista, R 2.5.0 and function save
Hi everyone, I want to make use of the save function but it did not work. I'm using vista and R 2.5.0, winzip is installed too. Here's the code (from example ?save): > x <- runif(20) > y <- list(a = 1, b = TRUE, c = "oops") > save(x, y, file = "xy.Rdata") Fehler in gzfile(file, "wb") : kann Verbindung nicht ?ffnen Zus?tzlich:

"file changed as we read it" message during tar file creation on GlusterFS
I think it is safe to ignore it. The problem exists? due to the minor difference in file time stamps in the backend bricks of the same sub volume (for a given file) and during the course of tar, the timestamp can be served from different bricks causing it to complain . The ctime xlator[1] feature once ready should fix this issue by storing time stamps as xattrs on the bricks. i.e. all bricks

"file changed as we read it" message during tar file creation on GlusterFS
Hi Ravi, thank you very much for your support and explanation. If I understand, the ctime xlator feature is not present in the current gluster package but it will be in the future release, right? Hi All, any news about this issue? Can I ignore this kind of error message or I have to do something to correct it? Thank you in advance and sorry for my insistence. lustre 1.8.3 upgrade observations
Hello, 1) when compiling the lustre modules for the server the ./configure script behaves a bit odd. The --enable-server option is silently ignored when the kernel is not 100% patched. Unfortunatly the build works for the server, but during the mount the error message claims about a missing "lustre" module which is loaded and running. What is really missing are the ldiskfs et al

Building a C5 chroot on a C6 machine
I'm trying to do something slightly silly; rather than having a C5 machine and a C6 machine around for compiling and testing, I want to create a C5 chroot area. Something similar to "mock" but using lvm snapshots and some local config specific stuff. (Potentially even using Linux Containers to enter the chroot environment). So I thought I'd build out the chroot... % cat

read-only access without rsyncd?
Hi, I've a setup where a special account (limited by the ssh-key) can use rsync via ssh to make a backup of / (limited by sudo). Obviously it needs read-access to everything. However, since he can read everything, he could also easily _write_ everything. Can I limit the rsync command on the server to read-only? Thanks in advance Martin -- Martin Schr?der,

stacked histograms
I want to produce stacked histograms where the total bar is divided up according to the n levels of the grouping variable given in the group argument. I am using the lattice histogram function and its "group"-argument, but it is not recognised. The "auto.key" argument, however, is, because it gives me the correct group levels and when setting groups = NULL, auto.key = TRUE

Integrate scruffy graph in rails view?
Hi everybody, I''m using scruffy to create some graphs, and would like to integrate them into a regular view (i.e. show them in an <img> tag). However, I get errors when using img_tag, or the image doesn''t load if I try saving the graph to disk and then loading them in html. Generating the graph and linking to it works, however then I only have the graph open in a new
