how to automatically create the home directory
If you're on a RedHat system with selinux (RHEL, CentOS, fedora), then it
looks like <https://danwalsh.livejournal.com/69837.html> pam_oddjob_mkhomedir
will create the home directories for you and also ensure that the correct
selinux labels are applied. I have this on my todo list, as I'm currently
using the ADUC method, which is labour intensive.

[PATCH] Replace hard-coded PKG_STATEDIR with state_dir setting
Sharing an installed copy of dovecot between several users each running
a daemon within their own account (or using the same binaries for a
system daemon and a user daemon) is difficult because the compile-time
directory PKG_STATEDIR (typically /var/lib/dovecot) is hard-coded as the
location of things like the ssl-parameters.dat file and the replicator
database.
Replace all these uses of

Light "bug" in authtest, sockets path
Hi to all!
I?ve changed position to client auth socket to enable postfix authentication. The socket is now created in /var/spool/postfix/private/auth.
authtest do not catch up the change. Reading source I?ve seen that path to auth sockets is written explicitly in function authtest_passdb in util/authtest.c to:
if (auth_socket_path == NULL)
auth_socket_path =

echo 0> /selinux/enforce
When does echo 0 > /selinux/inforce need to be used? I.e., where is
selinux enforcing itself on the system to protect it? When I do yum
install of some package, it seems to work (not being blocked). When would
doing something not work because selinux is watching it (or whatever that
process is doing)?
Thanks,

Fwd: How would I make dir2 a copy of dir1 w/hardlinks for the files?

Right now, neither is 'cp' (as of V8.21 - V10 inclusive) --
"apparently" (?) in response to this
article: http://danwalsh.livejournal.com/64493.html.
Right now, 'cp' tries to 'hardlink' to symlinks, which AFAIR
has never been an option --

SELinux Question
Hi Guys, My google foo is failing me this afternoon. Just configuring a
new C6 install. I know there are SELinux alerts happening, eg: I know I
need to enable named to write to the local .jnl file as part of dynamic
DNS, but sealert -b is not listing any alerts. I can see raw audit
messages. Is there some daemon I have forgotten to start or install?
Thanks

[RFC][SLP] Let's turn -slp-vectorize-hor on by default
I've done compile-time experiments for AArch64 over SPEC{2000,2006}
and of course the test-suite. I measure no significant compile-time
impact of enabling this feature by default.
I also ran the test-suite on an X86-64 machine. I can't imagine any
other targets being uniquely effected in terms of compile-time by
turning this on after testing both AArch64 and X86-64. I also timed

[RFC][SLP] Let's turn -slp-vectorize-hor on by default
I have not. I could feasibly do this, but I'm not set up to perform
good experiments on X86-64 hardware. Furthermore, if I do it for
X86-64, it only seems fair I should do it for the other backends as
well, which is much less feasible for me. I'm reaching out the
community to see if there's any objection based on their own
measurements of this feature about defaulting it to on.

gstat---2 basic plot questions
Hi all--
I'm new to R, statistics and programming, so sorry if this is a really basic
question!
I have plotted a directional variogram, and I want to
a. overlay the omni-directional line over each directional panel
b. display the directional variograms in a single panel with a legend that
associated each line to each degree measurement.
The line I'm using is

CentOS 5.2 + SELinux + Apache/PHP + Postfix
Hi All,
I'm running CentOS 5.2 with SELinux in enforcing mode (default
targeted policy). The server hosts a PHP web app that sends mail. I'm
getting the following errors (see end of message) in my selinux
audit.log file every time the app sends an email. The email always
seems to get sent successfully, despite the log messages. However,
they do concern me and I would like to understand

How to avoid multiple registers definitions in customInserter.
Hi,
I'm lowering some of the logical operators (by example the | operator) on integer32.
Sadly my target only provide native instruction on high and low parts of 32 bits registers.
So, I have to generate a sequence of two native instructions (LOR followed by HOR).
I've introduced an Pseudo instruction with a custom inserter.

Color of ecdf plots
Hi.
I have the following two ecdf plots in one graph:
plot(
ecdf(....),
do.points=FALSE,
verticals=TRUE,
main=paste("Ecdf of distances ",DIM,sep=""),
col="red"
);
lines(
ecdf(....),
do.points=FALSE,
verticals=TRUE
);
How do I change the color of the resulting graph? Adding col="red" to either plot or lines results in an error

more selinux problems ...
Hi,
how do I allow lighttpd access to a directory like this:
dr-xrwxr-x. lighttpd example unconfined_u:object_r:samba_share_t:s0 files_articles
I tried to create and install a selinux module, and it didn?t work.
The non-working module can not be removed, either:
semodule -r lighttpd-files_articles.pp
