Maildir structure question
Hello, About the INBOX location when using maildir, in the wiki, http://wiki.dovecot.org/MailboxFormat/Maildir, I can read: " Directory Structure ~/Maildir/new, ~/Maildir/cur and ~/Maildir/tmp directories contain the messages for INBOX. The tmp directory is used during delivery, new messages arrive in new and read shall be moved to cur by the clients. " But in my Maildir, I see

Dovecot mbox & other programs
Hello, I want to use dovecot as imap server with mbox storage format (described at [1]) but I also want to access (and modify!) those mbox files which are stored on server (and used by dovecot). What is correct way to read those mboxes? From wiki page [1] I read that I should ignore first message in mbox (which contains X-IMAPbase header) and mbox file is in mboxcl2 format. And what is

mbox File too large error
Hello, I have a rather large (~400MB) INBOX file in mbox format. When using deliver, it complains in the logs: Dec 2 16:47:13 petole deliver(niko): write() failed with mbox file /home/niko/mail/INBOX: File too large I do not see anything related in the configuration. And ulimit shows nothing special: $ ulimit -a core file size (blocks, -c) 0 data seg size (kbytes, -d)

Best Practices: Escaping text on input or output?
In web applications that have user generated content, it is clearly necessary to provide some ability to ''escape'' user generated text to avoid SQL injection, XSS, and other nasty attacks. The existing dogma on this point seems to favor escaping text as it comes out of the database, rather than doing it on the way in. I''m not sure that I understand the logic behind

Testing for cross site scripting, etc.
Being new to testing and ruby, are there "standard" tests that can be done that test for things like cross site scripting and friends? If not, anyone have ideas on what I might do about testing those sorts of things? I''ll be using rails, also. [PATCH 0/3] WIP readline escaping functions
From: Maros Zatko <hacxman@gmail.com> Auxiliary functions for readline to support space character escaping in filenames in future. Escaping function is taken from fish.c (used to be parse_quoted_string) plus its un-escaping counterpart. There are a few tests for both. Maros Zatko (3): fish: rl.{c,h} - escaping functions for readline fish: basic tests for readline escaping autotools:

[patch] Let's use <%== %> instead of <%= raw() %>
I''ve submitted a small patch to make Rails behave properly with the Erubis <%== %> construct. For some reason the current behaviour of that tag in Rails 3 is to escape the contents _twice_ which is probably a bug. I offer three suggestions why this is a good idea: - The syntax is cleaner. It can avoid a lot of .html_safe and raw in your views. I especially like the conciseness of

barrier and commit options?
Hello, On my home server (Debian etch, custom 2.6.28.2 kernel), I am using ext3 for both root and /home filesystems, with barriers enabled to prevent corruption caused by my PATA disk write cache. Looking for a better performance, I have also set the commit=nr option as described in linux-2.6.28.2/Documentation/filesystems/ext3.txt, so that I now have: niko at petole:~$ mount -t ext3

Generating samples from truncated multivariate Student-t distribution
Dear Members, I am working with 6-dimensional Student-t distribution with 4 degrees of freedom truncated to [20; 60]. I have generated 100 000 samples from truncated multivariate Student-t distribution using rtmvt function from package ?tmvtnorm?. I have also calculated mean vector using equation (3) from attached pdf. The problem is, that after summing all elements in one column of rtmvt result

Dict proxy client returning empty string instead of multiline string

Embedded From_ lines breaking Content-Length (and Dovecot)
I feel like I'm going totally crazy. Is it just me, or have embedded From_ lines really been breaking mbox messages since (at least) dovecot 1.0? I found a whole lot of broken messages in an old mailbox of mine and when I looked closer at it, it seemed like Dovecot was ignoring the Content-Length header and truncating the messages at the first embedded From_ line instead. Figuring
