mISDN & Asterisk 1.4: HFC-S card not responsive
Hi, I have installed Asterisk 1.4 with mISDN with the install-asterisk.tar.gz script from beronet.com. On my system I have two cards, one a AVM Frit!Card Pci 2.0 and one HFC-S chip. I know both to work well with mISDN on my system from a previous installation. Now however, the AVM card works well at first glance, i.e. it "registers" incoming calls and works through the asterisk

Nortel 81C MSDL Trunking to Asterisk TE110P, Nortel Resetting PRI Channels
We are currently working to trunk from a Nortel 81C to an Asterisk Server 1.4 running on Red Hat Linux. We have two PRI trunks which work with the exception of the clock slips, which is causing the Nortel to reset the PRIs once a hour. Thanks for any suggestions. 81C MSDL Asterisk Digium TE110P REQ prt TYPE adan dch 10

Erase the source file open; specify a tempfile name option
I'm curious how to go about submitting a suggestion that affects both the original BSD version and the portable release. A few days ago I sent off a BSD-relative patch to openssh at openssh.com. Is this the right thing to do? I didn't hear anything back, but it's only been 3 days, so I'm probably just being too antsy. In the meantime, maybe someone else out there would like to

[PATCH] dsync: fix splitting login from host
Using strchr() was splitting login and host at the first occurrence of '@' which leads to troublesome behaviour. When calling strace one would notice the misbehaviour: execve("/usr/sbin/ssh", ["ssh", "-lthomas", "domain.org at 10.8.13.2" using strrch() however splits login and host at the last occurrence of '@'. loop over large dataset
Hi All, I'd like to ask for a few clarifications. I am doing some calculations over some biggish datasets. One has ~ 23000 rows, and 6 columns, the other has ~620000 rows and 6 columns. I am using these datasets to perform a simulation of of haplotype coalescence over a pedigree (the datestes themselves are pedigree information). I created a new dataset (same number of rows as the pedigree

After some time 4.3.9 Member Server in different Subnet than ADS controller loses trust
Hai Thomas.   Its not that hard to get a good 4.4.3. here is how to do this. And is really easy, as long you dont run into compile problems. I’ve tested below in debian jessie, and should work on ubuntu also.   The short/simple rebuild a samba version from debian jessie to ubuntu.   ## 1 ## Get the packages needed for a rebuild. sudo apt-get install -y --no-install-recommends

I4L CallerID not working
Can anyone work out why my callerid doesn't work on my isdn4Linux with asterisk (or without asterisk for that matter)... This used to work fine, and I am quite confident that the telco is sending callerid information (because they always do on all ISDN lines standard, only extra cost on POTS lines). This is the information from dmesg, whether asterisk is running or not: isdn_net: Incoming

[HowTo] Installing Samba and sssd on Debian Wheezy (with manual backport)
Hi everyone, A couple of weeks ago I wanted to install Samba and sssd on a Debian Wheezy server. The Samba version from the wheezy-backports repo looks and feels fairly well packaged by now and is updated to the upstream version, so in my opinion that's the way to go. As regards sssd, I wanted a version supporting the AD backend (the one in the Wheezy repos doesn't), so I backported it

scp and filenames with weird characters
I've experienced some troubles using scp with remote files with spaces, amphersands or parantheses in their filenames on Linux hosts. This happens: stain at false:~$ scp "bender.linpro.no:blapp blapp" . scp: blapp: No such file or directory scp: blapp: No such file or directory stain at false:~$ scp "bender.linpro.no:blapp&blapp" . bash: blapp: command

fyi: libvirt issue with pvops kernel with patch
fyi: I just filed a bug report[1] for libvirt with a patch attached that allows libvirt/virsh/virt-manager/... to show storage stats with pvops kernel as well. Recently there was a switch from using /sys/devices/xen-backend to /sys/bus/xen-backend which led to libvirt being unable to get stats. For those using Debian just "apt-get source" libvirt sources, copy the patch to

Upgrading samba on Buster
Hai Tom, All packages where possible will get this security update. Im working from latest versions and OS down. It only take a bit more time to build them all and test them. But builds are running. If you want to do this upgrade yourself, this one is pretty easy. # Enable my repo and the sources. apt update apt source samba # This gets the older version. # And the new version wget

[PATCH] supporting a remote scp path option in scp
Hi there, I've written some enhancements to scp.c and pathnames.h to enable the scp to arbitrarily set the remote scp path. (eg $ scp -e /usr/bin/scp foo user at bar:foo) I did read the "scp: command not found" FAQ entry but I'm not quite sure why we can't do this, unless it's because enhancements to scp are no longer a priority. Any other reason why it "is the

building rpy against lenny-cran
Hi. On all of my machines, except for a netbook cursed with the GMA500 chipset, the R packages are synced to lenny-cran. I have been using rpy in a chroot using the official lenny R packages (2.7.1) given that i have not been able to find compatible rpy deb packages to work with lenny-cran. I am able to build the rpy deb package from source in a 32-bit lenny chroot (with the stock R packages)

AVM Fritz! + chan_capi + mISDN + PTP
Hello everyone, I have been using an AVM Fritz! card with chan_capi and mISDN for quite a while in PTM mode and it was working finely. Now, I needed more DID/MSN, so I switched to PTP. But now nothing works anymore :( I am using Asterisk on Debian Sarge stable and installed Asterisk along with chan_capi from apt-get. I installed mISDN from the CVS of isdn4linux.de. It is : - Asterisk
